Just like the majority of the playerbase has incentives to go into PvP, but that doesn't mean the majority doesn't actually try to win. The Fold was a PvP mode that's the closest it can get to a "just for fun/no incentives" PvP mode, and it died out pretty quickly. I'm not sure how the EXP part ruining PvP (for you) is relevant, since achievements/glamour have been part of PvP since the beginning, and those two clearly haven't ruined PvP.

That's good for him. For me, PvP isn't a high priority thing, so I'd rather stick to having fun (without being completely useless) instead of having to deal with the headache of getting the "target not in range" error half the time.

It's not really related because I simply answered your question on whether I'd still be PvPing if SE decided to remove EXP. Whether I'm hardcore or casual doesn't change that answer.

So a PvP god makes it look easy, therefore it's easy for everyone, right? Surely it's very easy for the average player to secure a kill with 4-10 others attacking a target.

You missed the part where I said "for melee".

I firmly believe you clearly have insufficient understanding in the game mode both in PvP and PvE. You can just reset the aggro counter by just moving out from the aggro reach.
And here, you missed the part where I said that everyone will have to be on the same page. In case you don't understand this saying, it means that everyone on the aggro counter has to move away from it. This might be easy in PF premades, but most frontline groups aren't premades.

Good for you, I solo-queue like most of the playerbase.

Ok, i see what you're trying to say, and you're correct on the most part.

I'll give you a scenario where EXP plays a relevant role, assuming you joined a 72-man frontline and all your alliance is filled with DPS, you can change to healer and that become you're the only healer in the whole alliance. U N L U C K Y
People joining frontline as DPS because they want to have fast queue and EXP.

You missed the part where I said "for melee".
    - For this part. I'll give you another scenario based on before SB hits.

An enemy Monk is doing his opening rotation with "Blood for Blood". Will you hit him or hit the ice?
*The Big Ice Tomelith just spawned.*

    You get what i mean?
Blood for blood increase damage taken by like 25%? MCH/BRD/NIN/MNK have this while DRG have like lesser dmg taken increase.

But well, new pvp system kinda ruined these kind of awareness game play.

Also sorry if i sounded offensive in some way.

A sort-of fix for this, aside from removing EXP, would be to allow players to pick a job that they'll get the EXP on. Players who are there for exp, but want to contribute as much as possible, wouldn't be tied to a dps job, and would be free to fight on their healer or tank jobs.

I get what you mean, but honestly, I'd have a hard time picking up on noticing the MNK using Blood for Blood, if he's in a stack with the other melee. If I did, I'd probably poke the MNK a few times, to see how fast the healers on the opposing team are reacting.

You didn't, we likely just misunderstood each other on some points.
