Expert (and other roulettes): Give Another Job XP

    Let's accept the following:

    - Players already at L70 don't know what they're doing
    - Leveling in POTD and PvP taught them nothing
    - Leveling in dungeons doesn't provide a full rotation and leaves people confused.
    - Players need more incentives to log in to roulette every day, especially healers and tanks. The people who are already healers and tanks don't want to lose their queues.

So a long grinding experience to get a job to a higher level after completing your highest level is a pain.

Why can't we assign another job to give an assigned second job a boost of XP in the meantime? This would encourage more roulettes, it would assign more DPS XP so reduce the queues, and it would reduce the grinding required to play it. We need a stronger player base and we need more roles available. Leveling to L70 is nothing like what it used to be leveling to L50.

You're suggestion isnt making much sense here - you claim that people dont learn how to play their job while leveling in PotD/PvP so now you want to let them level jobs instead without playing them at all? How do I learn to play dragoon when I run the dungeons on my paladin?
We're already having a passive bonus in place to help level any job thats below our highste one.
    We've got that rested bonus.

I mean, I assume this is just another try of getting tanks and heals into the dungeons because you want to play your dps but cant stand the queuetimes. But no, sorry, leveling a job without playing it at all is even worse than leveling that job in PotD, PvP or with FATEs.
And unless you can only give exp to DPS-classes this can very well turn the other way too: People who dont really want to play tank/healers can now level those classes without having to set foot into a dungeon in the first place.

I also cant see how that would encourage more roulettes - the encouragment of roulettes comes from the bonus they're providing. Why would I run leveling when I got the bonus for that day? I could end up in Sastasha NM, which gives basically no exp at level 65 - even if I could pass those exp on, thats basically nothing and I'm better off doing two FATEs.

Leveling is pretty quick and easy now: weekly challenge-log, daily roulettes, daily hunts, FATEs while you're waiting for dungeons... Leveling to L70 is indeed nothing like what it used to be leveling to L50. Because before dungeon-exp-buffs and roulettes leveling to 50 was FATEs in southshroud and Coerthas.

Please, let people play teh job they're earning their exp on - even if they dont learn it in depth in PotD/PvP, its still better than having someone at level 70 telling you "Lol, first time playing this job".

Oh and also: I got 6 battleclass jobs at 70 now - a mix of tanks, heals and dps. And I wouldnt say that it was a painful grind at all (...except healing undergeared tanks through masspulls in Bardam on my scholar, but hey...) - this might sound a bit "esoteric" but I believe it comes down to your mindset here: I dont need to have everything right now. I'm okay with taking it slow, with hitting 70 on another job every 2-3 weeks. Makes it a lot less painful if you dont stare at the numbers the whole time and think "uuurgh... I'm only 63, kill me now!"
For your long dungeon-queues I'd recommend what I've been doing: Buddy up with a friend, take turns healing/tanking. One of you levels a DPS, the other a tank/healer. Once you're both 70, you pick new classes and switch.

The only place where I'd like to be able to assign exp is the weekly challenge log - would be great if I wouldnt have to worry about completed-dungeons-exp going to waste because I threw an expert roulette in.

New idea: players can check themselves into FC chocobo stables, and their FC members can feed them carrots for exp.

This. Though, starting the week with EX, then going 50/60, leveling, MS(yes it counts as one of the dungeons as "annoying" - matter of opinion per person - as those are) practically gives you the dungeon log, and if you throw in Trial and didn't have full parties of friends before popping the roulettes also the Commendation. Just need 1 more dungeon after that, which is rather easy to do for the most part.

This would be nice as I've wasted many weekly exp bonuses from challenge log because I wasn't paying attention to the counts >.>

I'd rather not be for adding something that only propagates the first point made in your post, that people don't understand how to play their job correctly.

I'd actually like to address that point, that most people in fact understand how to play their job, albeit not as optimally as others. So I'd rather have someone that is remotely competent, that understands what a positional is and how to do basic rotations over someone that is essentially going to play the job for the first time ever at Lv70, and only going to literally faceroll the keyboard for 18 minutes.

"We need a stronger player base?" - Well, allowing people to level alternative classes, without actually playing those classes is going to achieve the complete opposite of that. You're going to give people less engagement/involvement in the class, which when they actually go to play the class they'll receive nothing but scorn from people for not knowing how to play the job. Sounds familiar? We're back at stage one. All you've done is given someone a prettier profile with more level 70s. Sure having means of allocating bonus exp such as those from challenge log is morbidly okay as I doubt many people are actually going to get 1-70 from that anytime soon.

New Level 70 NIN or MNK here guys going into Lakshmi (extreme) - "Sorry guys I don't know any of the positional attacks, nor any abilities respective to the class I'm playing" Doesn't seem like the best idea. Sorry but there's a little added salt, but in any circumstance I'm down for anything that reduces queue times, and makes content more beefed out with players. But it doesn't take much to deduce that this will create anything but a stronger player-base. The best way to learn is by doing.

It's ultimately up to the player as to whether they take anything out of levelling through dungeons or spamming through PotD. Bear in mind I'm talking about the majority of the player-base here. Being able to deduce a rotation that works from levelling through dungeons isn't greatly hard. Actually learning how to play the job in the truest sense isn't something you're really going to grasp until you raid, or at least until you're forced to get better, which frankly speaking is the minority. EDIT: Actually attitude is probably a greater contribution

Again, levelling a class, without actually playing the class will only ever lead to circumstances far worse than now.
