NIN Gust slash nerf pls revert

Firstly when the SB came out NIN . It was actually pretty balanced. Not overpowered (unlike the other malee class Mnk/ SAM) but was decently good. I dunno which monkey told Yoshida in a interview that NIN was OP & asked for his comments. In result of that stupid remark Gust Slash(GS) got nerfed. I feel is unfair as NIN as not the highest DPS class at that time.

Now with the nerf, I hv not seen a youtube videos tat a nin beat the 04S doll with below ilvl 325. (there is one video but it an odd & non opt rotation). Believe it in direct result of not adjusting the doll HP to GS adjustment.

Was looking around, currently the DPS standing (4.05 Max DPS output in Omega savage) is:
1 SAM (leads by a huge mile)
2 BLM
3 MNK
4 RDM
5 BRD
6 NIN
7 DRG
8 SMN
9 MCH

With 4.06 patch buff to DRG,SMN & MCH. Believe NIN will be in the bottom of the list even with the changes to AE (no potency gain) .

What do U people think? Should Gust Slash nerf be reverted or not?

No. NIN is STILL the best melee after the nerf. DRG only got buffed if you miss the positional which happens, but not that often. NIN is still ridiculously useful with all it brings to a party.

NIN certainly wasn't balanced back before 4.05. It did comparable DPS to MNK while still having trick attack and its agro management. The fact that it is pretty much the foundation of any group (probably followed by BRD) after its nerf goes to say a lot.

Ninja is fine and are very important for a fight like o4s where enmity generation plays a large role. The amount of utility they bring with smokescreen, shadewalker makes up for their lack of damage. Being a dps is not only about dealing damage.

Hv u seen the numbers ? I talking about max percentile DPS numbers ( it an aggregate of DPS numbers of skill players , not some noobs who dont know how to hit positional) .
Mnk Sam are doing more 500+ 700+ dps different. is tat fair? soon the trick attack advantage will be outweigh .

Red mage / nin will be in the top 3 lowest dps class

What's wrong with them being in the bottom tier of dps? They more than make up for their low personal dps in raid dps buffs alone. Plus they make tank swaps much easier.

Nin spot is always guaranteed. It brings unprecedented utility so...cant have your cake and eat it too. There are other dps that require more work...

If their personal DPS wasn't the lowest of their roles, their raid DPS contributed would be significantly above the rest.

Oh, and look, NIN at least isn't even at the bottom in its role where it'd fairly belong. Admittedly, Bard parses pretty high in that fight, too (opposite of v4s), which may be the better take-away from RDM's position there.

On the side note v3s is not good way compare classes because one who do the most aoe dps on the ninjas is on the top. Top blm parses have used like 4 flares and 2 fouls on the ninjas that way they can cheese their way on the top. Red mage is usually the one that do limit break on the adds, thats why their own personal dps is low there. Limit break alone can do like 2k dps there if the fight is not cheesed.
