    True Kori but waiting on an entire season to collect data and make adjustments for the next season might just doom the pvp community from ever growing as I won't even return if that is the case. That was the point of the preseason and not really pushing players into the content to get the numbers they wanted. They could have done special in-game events or weekends to get more players into the 4v4 but did nothing to guide the community to where they needed feedback. Those Culling Time stream shows don't really help on top of that.

    I can agree with those definitely. That's why I said what I had experienced based on preseason.

    We are, again, the victim of SE's half-hearted efforts to manage PvP in this game. Sure, people were chomping at the bit, eagerly awaiting season 5, but if you weren't ready due to lack of sufficient data collected, it would've been less of a disappointment to make an announcement beforehand and encourage players to actively get involved in the extended preseason for the sake of said data collection.

    THIS is what a community representative should be doing. Please take note.

    Maybe it sounds like harsh or bitter criticism, and to a degree it is, but from the perspective of a player who actively plays and enjoys PvP, I have felt quite neglected and ignored on a number of things for a very long time. I'm no expert on business, but neglect and ignorance usually don't make a happy customer.

    You say beginning of the season and maybe my idea of how this goes is outdated. But the laddering hardly stays competitive for the entire season in my experience. What are we going to do when a bunch of people jump ship because the games are healer versus healer? Meanwhile people will still queue for exp. I don't really see this going well. I'm not saying they should nerf healers. I only asked that you think about it from our point of view as DPS as well, we struggle with the possibility of a bad healer on top of bad DPS partners.

    Laddering gets more competitive I feel the longer the season goes as people settle into their ranks. Some of the really good players may stop playing if they get a good rank but generally there are still good players playing in high ranks up to the end. Start of season is a mess with a lot of new players trying out the mode, and Diamond-level players being in unranked with everyone else.

    Unfortunately the nature of a team based game means that a weak team won't win against a better team. I've had to struggle with bad dps + tank myself, because it doesn't matter how long I keep my DPS alive if they can't get a kill, and if my tank can't support me. Though I admit at this level we do have a better chance if the enemy healer is weak. Becomes less so once higher rank and other healers are also good.

    I'm disappointed they didn't remove EXP from ranked, though.

    Honestly my biggest frustration has come from level 30~ players entering who know how to do absolutely nothing. I really wish they'd remove the experience from the ranked game mode. Keep that to 8v8 and FL =/. I could see that yeah. In S1 I remember a lot of the ranks were pretty much settled for a while, however the rating loss back then was way more punishing than this is, so I suppose I'll just grit my teeth till I can get to the point where those people just aren't on my team.

    I do feel like healing is too large a contribution to overall success though, like I don't mean they're too powerful though.


    The main crutch of the game mode is healing, if your healer dies you lose momentum and hopefully everyone runs back though I usually catch most of the team after the healer dies. If the healer gets CC'd DPS will melt, if the healer doesn't, things will go on forever till they do.

    Basically what I'm saying is there is too much reliance on whether a healer lives or dies or is good /bad in my opinion. Not sure how to fix that.
