You are the first to say this from other threads I have seen. Is there numbers for this yet?
Accurate data is not out yet and I assume it's gonna take some time but I've been hitting dummy whole day and actually just high rolled into 4600 DPS V4S dummy run. Meanwhile my highest Bard result has been 4300 DPS. Same ilvl while MCH is melded DH focused and BRD crit focused.
I'm just happy this rotation at least feels like it's taking a step to a better direction. Hopefully it will be refined by the time 4.1 comes around. MCH is now more at ease and playable for me
The change is alright, but I still find it lacking in terms of support from a ranged class. I would rather have them support the rest of the group way more than just pure DPS. To make the job reliable in places that it's needed. So I can see why BRDs are still the most requested in raids or trials cause of the support utilities.
While there is some truth to that, a BRD player even pointed out that the disparities in support simply look good on paper. Need to lower incoming damage (on BRD)? Better make sure the right song is playing and Troub it. MCH? Time it right and wrench it. 2% crit up and 3% DH up are quite nice, but neither guaranteed. Hypercharge is straight damage up for the duration. Nature's Minne is quite nice, but you can live without it just like you can live without Mantra or an aoe Bole. The change is alright, but I still find it lacking in terms of support from a ranged class. I'm not downplaying BRD (ere the beancounters come thundering in to silence my heresy), but I'm simply noting that while the list looks great, it's not quite as consistent - and this came FROM a BRD. And while MCH could do with more support options (or finally cross over the line into "pure" DPS territory), we're not really at a loss for it, nor should any parties so vehemently bypass them for a BRD. If your party needs the support, by all means, but you're in no way hindered having a MCH.

Not having DoTs or stat buffs isn't a co-relation to being under BRD's dps.
Dismantle being on a 60 second cooldown makes it more competitive with troubador. An example, the former can be used on all dark token phases during O3s, or both meteor combos during Exdeath, while BRD can mitigate the entirty of the book phase or both the fire3 and holy combo on ExdeathWhile there is some truth to that, a BRD player even pointed out that the disparities in support simply look good on paper. As far as damage is concerned, the two should be a bit more closer in damage output. At least with MCH, their overall mechanic is sound except for cooldown in relation to their heat generation (not used at all unless you've already overheated)I'm not downplaying BRD (ere the beancounters come thundering in to silence my heresy), but I'm simply noting that while the list looks great, it's not quite as consistent - and this came FROM a BRD. Can someone link a guide to the Stormblood MCH opener/rotation? As someone who had fun leveling it back in Stormblood but saw the level 60 opener and said "F**k that noise", I'm genuinely curious as to how it plays now. Can't seem to find any solid information on it though.
They might change it again cause of the changes so I doubt that they'll stick w/ the current rotation...................I could be wrong though. Can someone link a guide to the Stormblood MCH opener/rotation?
