Combo potency reduced from the rear has me spinning, those gotta be typos.
Combo potency reduced from the rear has me spinning, those gotta be typos.
It received no buffs except in the sense that penalties for missing your positionals have been reduced by 10 to 50 potency waste. Its ceiling is absolutely unchanged. It's simply gotten easier to play, so to speak.
Apparently they can't attach the positional bonus only to its comboed state, so they're reducing the bonus and increasing the combo potency. The result is that if the skill is used without combo-ing (originally 100 + bonus), it's now weaker. However, it also depends less upon getting the proper positional to do the same bonus.
They'd have been clearer if they said that, "bonus potency from attacking from the rear has been reduced by 20; this amount has been moved to the potency increase from the combo bonus, which has thereby been increased by 20."

What I don't get is why they'd both leaving Hot Shot at all if it's going to be a minute-long buff...
And now frequent overheating is obligatory, to boot, which is only going to make the slow return to Heated Shots feel more sluggish.

Pretty much what I expected for MCH.
As for the GB recast, is that just the on/off or is it the lockout after Overheat?
See there they still have no idea how to help summoner out. What they did for summoner's is a farce that won't help out much at all. How about they increase those two spells the amount they increased the dragoons skills to make it fair. Why they buff heck out of dragoon again when they patch was suppose to be only for smn and mcn's.

Talk about rubbing salt in the wound seeing those Summoner "changes".
I'm sure I feel differently since my damage as a dragoon AND a machinist got buffed and we have an event happening tomorrow. But you are welcome to your opinion.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Proof, as if it was needed, that SE are blind to the well-documented problems of the SMN job.
The clunkiness.
The unrivalled punishment of death.
The inability to cure pets.
The uselessness of Titan even in solo play.
More DoT potency isn't nothing, but it may as well be as it doesn't actually deal with the problems the job faces and will continue to face. Meanwhile, SMN mains will continue to get locked out of endgame content and answer by abandoning the job (in favour of RDM of course) or the game.
I just want them to fix the issue with Bahamut not attacking unless he's literally parked behind you... that can't be intentional right...? If it is then yes, Yoshi has no idea what to do with SMN anymore...
I cant speak for everyone, but i dont just want potency buffs and more dmg on drg, i want a better freakin set of rotation that isnt clunky to perform.
main changes i would like. reduce the need for life of the dragon to two eyes. (no dragon in this game has 4 eyes, lol kinda uhh, kinda pointless to mention but its a funny thought) So that you can perform your burst right away and then every minute afterwards, instead of having to wait an entire minute and a half to begin using nastrond, or at the very least, also factor in dragonfire to give an eye. i would accept that even at the cost of potency nerfs if they had to.
Change how dragon sight works (or make it a toggle at least) to mimick how the sch(smn? i forgot) summon works with that one skill, in that it goes on the closest player to the drg. its not as bad for PC players, but no one wants to target a party member mid rotation, especially not when you are already stretching the GCD window by double weaving. most likely a drg will always be using dragon sight on a melee or a tank anyway, which is going to be the closest person to the drg.
That imo would fix drg, as of right now its not a fun class to play, at least to me
