To be fair they designed end game content in PSO2 with no strict dps or skill requirements so the implementation of a DPS parser in PSO2 was completely unnecessary and literally only exists to raise epeens. In 14 if you don't do enough damage you aren't clearing the content, cut and dry. So you need to know how to improve, or who is holding you back.

It can help you improve yourself if you use it properly. Also I enraged 7 times in a row in a susano EX party with less than 3 deaths per run, so I don't really know how strongly your statement can stand.

For savage content, we really need an in game tool to track dps/healing contribution considering the enrage timer exist, also let bad players know they should improve their performance. Showing a chart or something after the duty ended or party disband is a nice idea. Savage contents aren't meant to be done by most people at least for the first few weeks. But there's always people not doing their job well enough or even worse, don't even know the mechanics, somehow queuing for duty completion and expect being carried. What is the logic behind wasting 7 other people's time is considered okay while it is not okay to point out 1 bad player. I'm just a bit tired of working so hard but still need others' approval to clear O3S. I also see a lot of good tanks, healers, DDs that definitely deserve the clear but still trapped here.(i.e. Very rarely failing mechanics, doing their jobs and do above "cleared" average dps)

Edit: dps contribution for DDs are normally 1~2% different, which should't create toxicity

The dummies are their answer to parsers. Can you beat the dummy? Then you're probably doing enough damage.

But it's kinda shuffled off to the side and not required for anything. I think they could make it more prominent and important, as well as adding more types, to help everyone learn about what they're capable of and help them maximize their abilities. A healing dummy set that'll help you deal with tricks like heavy AoE-> insta single target and stuff like that, a tank dummy that you need to keep on you while something else is trying to pull aggro off, an AoE dummy set...

    It could be fun.

It really won't. I don't have any strong feelings about parsers one way or the other, but if my time with WoW has taught me anything, it's that a lot of DPS will sit there and happily let a tank do 3-4x as much damage as they do even when a damage meter is staring them dead in the face. Not because they're incapable of putting up numbers but because they simply can't be fucked to put their hands on their keyboard.

Damage meters aren't going to get anyone to do anything they weren't already doing.

I'm indifferent on the subject at this point. Too many hard heads on both sides and neither willing to give in. It's not worth arguing really, we already have our answer and that's that.

That said, I am partial to having a parser available. I like having as much information quantitatively available to me as possible; I hate qualitative data.

    SE:
    >Designs boss battles that are pure DPS checks
    >Doesn't tell players their DPS

At the very least, just give us our own PERSONAL DPS/HPS meters so we have an idea of whether or not one rotation path is more beneficial than another.

Players who don't want to tell others their DPS can just lie about it anyway, like they currently can already!

As for dps a healers dps rotation is pretty much a one button spam. My dps rotation as AST is nothing but Combust/lord of crowns(if its up)/spam Malifec/Refesh combust(repeat). Gravity is only worth casting on packs not single target enemies and do to its long cast using lightspeed is helpful.
They design a lot of savage content to require healer DPS to beat enrage despite their official stance. Most groups will not be able to clear O3S or O4S if both healers did absolutely zero DPS. Even healers need parsers for healing in addition to DPS.

If you have to rely on a third party tool to clear content, you're probably not ready to tackle said content.

I already mention I pug content, so I dont have a static like I said so if your doing a party finder group and dont have a parse then you have no idea if someone is under performing. I also said I know that SE isnt gona allow parsers, I asked for something like the pvp system that it tells you everyones total dps at the end. nothing in this game is unbeatable but people whom run content wit the same people over and over again def have it better the pug life is alot more going on
