That's essentially what you're saying.

No, it isn't. You are comparing an automated call out that essentially takes the role of what you would assign one or two players via discord anyway with something that allows you to stop playing the game entirely. An ACT call out isn't going to do the mechanic for you whereas a bot will gather while you AFK. Those aren't remotely comparable.

No, that's not what they're saying at all. You shouldn't have to make extreme unrelated examples if you actually have a point.

What if you could script alerts to notify a healer when a party member is dropping in HP, so that you wouldn't have to pay attention to the party list? I think (not 100% sure though) it's even been possible for the program to call out which party members have debuffs you need to react to... It's about removing the chance for human error for certain parts of the player performance (in looking / calling stuff out) and replacing the player activity with automated one. Definitely unfair advantage that I would consider cheating.

Call-outs don't preclude you from having to act.

Even if you did have a "hey heal this dude" trigger, you would still actually have to heal said dude.

I've personally played with and without triggers. It definitely helped me when I was captain tunnel vision back in Twintania and didn't see her casting Twister - so it certainly feels like a bit of an advantage...but at the same time, as others have pointed out, it's not much different to people calling things out in VOIP.

Someone yelling at me about the fact that they are dying doesn't necessarily feel advantageous.

I didn't claim they do, but they do remove the need to pay attention to what's happening (what boss is casting) and the need to call it as a player. This part of player activity is replaced with a bot that doesn't make human errors (unlike me when I'm calling stuff out ). Where should the line be drawn if not to automating any player activity during the fight?

I know you want a parser in game since I've seen most of your post, but honestly this post makes no sense. You are basically saying here that a guy with a trigger will dodge a mechanic automatically because some computer voice is calling out something for you. It's what you are saying here. A bot to lvl 70 makes the whole thing free for you, you don't even need to even touch your game, since it will be done by itself. However a voice over calling out for you, you still need to do it on your own. I can call out a whole fight for a person and they still need to do it. And the fact the 11s mechanic is gonna give you 1 second, if you can't dodge that on your own you are bad, so the difference is small not as big as people say it is. It doesn't benefit as much as people say it does.

Again, parsers wont make a player great by just using one, nor does a call out trigger. You still need to play on your own and deal with the mechanics itself, a bot does everything for you... so again comparing trigger vs bot is just not right

I'm really not that invested in this, as I've said I don't think people should use them. In the grand scheme debating over whether triggers are immoral or not isn't going to change whether they exist or if you support them. Human error is part of the game and unless I'm being lazy (lazy is bad :[) I will try to confirm a call out from discord. Having an all knowing moderator is a bit one sided, in my opinion, but I can't control the masses (if I could everyone would be mandated catboys and have parsers :0)

I could see down the line a ray of hope that we will get an official (ps4 supported) parser, but I couldn't imagine SE creating something that notifies you of upcoming call outs in full voice. Working overtime so should be able to invest in decent PC and I can just give up the crusade of a ps4 supported parser. It's gotten me banned enough.

As much as I dont care of people use triggers or not, I doubt they will even release a voiceover for the mechanics and I don't think they should either. A parser is all I want for every platform.

They really should consider it, though. If someone harasses you for low numbers, you can just report them and the GM's will tell them to knock it off (and if they continue, then their punishment will gradually get worse).

And if they dont, which I also doubt they will, then players have to expect to play good when they are in groups who has parsers. It's not harrasment if you play bad, you just need to live up for it and improve. I do go againts those who harras you, saying you suck and shit like that, but if they tell you, that you do low damage and can no longer be in the group is a whole different thing. Problem is that players and I will say it loud here, community isn't as good as people say it is, because you have those who can't take a blunt comment saying that you perform bad and people will scream out they got bullied.
