I don't understand why this game only have 4 players group especialy since they went the hyrbide way (DPS with utility deal less dmg).

Having spot for 3 even 4 DPS in a group would not only lower the queue time for DPS. It would help balance for DPS class IMO.

A lot of buff would be more usefull while grouping if groups weren't just 2 DPS with a queue mechanic favoring having 1 range and 1 melee just to be sure some buff goes to waste.

Many would feel forced to play tank/healer in order to level their DPS toon. Personaly I would really hate such a system. I'd prefer to pay real $ instead to skip it. I mean, how is it fun to get a toon lvl 70 you haven't played ?

this people all ready cant figure out how to play their class, can you imagine if they could play 1 class and level up all the classes through banked exp?

Hmm not sure if i would classify this as a "problem" necessarily, guess we are vying for more "Convenience" as a community. The solutions I have seen so far such as exp bank, an extra dps slot ...all seem like good ideas that probably would save us a little bit of time.

I have been thinking though since we are all kind of bouncing ideas off each other... What if...and again a big IF ,not married to the idea yet...what if dungeons had the same concept like P.O.T.D? Which would mean a tank or healer would NOT be REQUIRED to move forward ...it would just be suggested to have these two in a party as well as lower the cool downs of potions ,phoenix downs etc. Now granted this would make runs tedious,, wipes might be more probable etc etc... but i think letting people have a shot at running a dungeon with lets say 1 healer 3 dps , or 4 dps, or 4 tanks, or 4 healers ( you get the point haha) would definitely speed que times. Just a thought.

They added a new tank and healer in HW. IMO it didn't really appear to increase the player populations in their roles as an overwhelming majority of DPS players stayed DPS and it was players previously playing tank and healer classes that were trying the new tank and healer to see how it was different than the previous ones.
I have to repeat myself on this topic quite alot.... Noone played DRK and AST because they were extremely underpowered and 20 Levels Away from Heavensward content. Also there was no Palace of the Dead to level them fast. The new Jobs in SB were extremely requested, are very powerful and can join the SB content within a few hours thanks to POTD.

    i mean i like tanking.

but if you solve the queue problems for DDs, doesn't that mean tanks lose their instant queues? and when i can queue on a DD as fast as i can on my tank - why should i deal then with randoms and tankxiety? i play tank because i like the greatsword, i like the fast queues and i like to help others (with the queues). and i guess you all know the downsides of tanking...

i would still play my tank for fun with the FC, but not so sure with the duty finder. and if more people think like me, adding more DD slots will solve nothing.

The solution I think would be a 2-tiered adventurer in need system. Role in the middle of the needed amount would get some reward, the role most in need (the one that shows up in adventurer in need currently), would get the biggest reward. There would be one caveat though, to be eligible for that reward you would have to queue solo. If you take even ONE other person in a premade, you forfeit the rights to the bonus. Plus, if it solves the tank and healer queues and there's not enough DPS, they can also get in on the reward.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

I played AST from the get go. Even when it healed for like 300potency when everyone else healed for 400.

One of my FCmates switched from BLM to DRK almost immediately, too.

We may not have been the majority, but we certainly aren't "no-one" and we're certainly not the only ones.

The problem would be that they need to rebalance everything, from the amount of monsters in the dungeon to their HP, amount of damage that they deal etc. Healers will either get their healing ability buffed or will get another healer to help them out. There is a reason why 8 man groups have 2 healers minimum. The way to fix this is for SE to take a look at the roles.

Personaly, I am worried, already have 2 DPS who like to stand in everything, having to babysit 4 underpreforming DPS players by myself, who stand in everything will probably decrease the amount of healers and tanks playing with randoms via the Duty Finder.
