no, seriously. i think that is what they should be focusing on right now.

Tank and healer pop in HW didn't really change outside of the hype right at the start.

Didn't the Devs say they'd think of adding a 3rd class (presumably a tank or a healer) if queue times got so bad?

At launch, DPS queues were 1 hr plus. Now, they are at about 30 min at most, 20 min at best. While the DPS queues haven't changed all that much, they've still gotten worse.

No i am fairly certain they stated with absolute no 3rd job like they had done with Nin so we most likely have to wait until 5.0 for a tank and healer, that is if they are not stupid about it and go with more dps again... :/

Morgan: This time there will only be two jobs. Is there any chance for a new job for the 4.x patches?

Yoshida: Currently there are no plans for a third job. Of course, there are a lot of people, myself included who are looking forward to new jobs. Creating an unbalanced job or ruining existing balance is something we don’t wanna do. We’ll revamp the system in 4.0, balance it, then maybe we’ll make another job.

So we do have hope and I would assume healer or tank, but for all we know it could also be a new crafter or gatherer.

Tanking normal dungs has become much more boring.

This may be anecdotal evidence at best, but I found that when the Cracked Clusters were displayed in Levelling Roulette, the queue times for DPS became much faster (even displaying Healer in Need at one point). Most dungeons took like 10 minutes max as a DPS after that, but soon went back up.

This is on Chaos btw, and even now, the maximum I had to wait for a SB dungeon is 20 minutes, and Leveling roulette 10 minutes max, and that was recently. As such, I feel the best way to get people to tank/healer is to make it worth more to play and far better rewards than DPS to make it appealing.

The healer in need happens quite a few times in the first couple of hours after reset from what I've seen on Chaos.

When you queue as Tank or Healer solo for dungeons, then you will understand why people prefer to go as DPs.

There is a very high chance that you will run into DPs that don't have AoE skills on their hot bars and mobs taking centuries to die. Aka making the life of tanks and healers hell for 20~30 minutes.

The above statement is true. Sometimes I am just not in the mood to tank and players in DF can be very toxic, and then come here and complain about DPS queue time. make a tank or healer, or if you are up to it do pvp etc.
