Graphic Crashing!

I have recently gotten a computer that has a NIVIDA GTX Geforce 1080 8GB GDDR5X and only since using this card have I had a problem where the game seems to crash when I tab out. This has happened three times in total starting Wednesday, August 2nd, and has happened about every other day. The first time it happened I was playing in Fullscreen mode. I had the frames uncapped and I limited frames when I was inactive and AFK. I tabbed a few times that same session and when the graphics bug happened my whole system sent an error report to HP and restarted. After that the system and game ran fine for the rest of my session. This bug makes my whole screen pixelate and checkboard. The squares are pixel versions of the game and the other is RBG colors.

Then yesterday, Saturday, August 5 I had it happen again. It didn't crash my whole system but the game did, and when the game crashed completely I got a fatal DirectX error: 11000002 (I am running DirectX11). But as soon as the game crashed this time I asked some people in my FC and they suggested playing in boarderless windows mode. So I did that and it played fine for the rest of my session.

Now we come to Today, Sunday, August 6th. I logged on and started to play and after a while and a few tabbed out later, it happened again. Same error and same game crashing. So I am at a lose of what it could be the problem. Additionally I think it may be a driver/card issue since after this last time when the game was crashed, I clicked the launched to the game and it did the same graphical bug on the desktop and a browser.

What have you tried so far? First thing I would try is updating your gpu driver. If it is has been updated try performing a clean install or rolling back to a older driver. If that doesn't work give your system a good cleaning with some canned air. Let us know how it goes.

My 1080 has never done that. Ive always kept it up to date and I dont do much more than gaming and game design on my PC. Maybe you should try updating and closing all other programs that may be running in the background? See if it keeps happening if the only thing going is FFXIV. If so you may have conflictions from one of your software. I have razer naga and tartarus chromas for gaming. When i play virtual reality stuff, the razer software cause errors sometimes so i have to end the razer process before starting my vr stuff to get vr to work properly(that or uninstall the razer software but i love my razer devices D: )
