Sry to say that, but I would have agree'd with the person, if you want to run dungeons and watch the cut scenes, then either go with your FC/Friends/Undersized/PF. DF doesn't have to wait, and I wouldn't wait, because it's my time you're wasting especially in content, that isn't new anymore and we have watched these scene's a hundred times and have waited a million of times for "newcomers". In fact you can be lucky that healer only made a little comment, I and many other people would have probably kicked you from the party.

These dungeons will be eternally a source of complaints from new players until they're removed from roulette - except then they'll be a source of complaining AGAIN because no one queues for them, since no daily bonus...

You were unlucky, to be honest. In most runs of either Prae or C. Meri there's a new player, and more often than not people, although unlikely to wait (because as Vidu mentioned, 1 hour for a daily roulette is really, really long), won't have a problem with you staying behind and watching cutscenes - and even if they DO mind, they're likely to just not say anything because it's a pretty common occurrence and really makes no difference.

So, you were kind of unlucky.

I'm going to be honest, though - you mentioned PF, but it goes both ways. Much in the way that healer could have made a PF for their daily run, so could you have made one so that you and fellow new players and volunteering veterans could take it slow.

tl;dr - healer was rude, you're not wrong in wanting to watch cutscenes - sorry about your bad run and hope it doesn't put you off the game cheers

Sorry, but no. New players take precedence because they're queuing into the roulette their first time and providing you with a bonus. One or two less people wouldn't even be noticeable. The OP wasn't expecting everyone to wait around for them. They simply wanted to watch the cut scenes in the moment, like many of us did.

She wasn't asking anyone to wait. The healer yelled because 1-2 players opted to watch cut scenes and not participate in content so easy, the DPS can now tank everything. I mean, if you have a Red Mage-- and you likely will-- the DPS can four man the whole thing. Who cares if a tank and DPS stay back? You barely need three people nowadays.

Go do frontlines.

Running ahead if a player wants to watch stuff is fine, as is them seeing the story as it is happening instead of later at an inn room.

Not everyone has to keep up with your pace - chances are they wouldn't anyway, there's so many elevators and delay with cutscene skipping they'd probably miss out on most of the run EVEN if they wanted to be considerate of your precious 20 minutes. I did that my first run, and I ended up missing both the cutscenes and the fights, because I couldn't find the bloody thing to ride the... thing. (I had to do that for spoilers =o )

This is even more ridiculous considering how easy the dungeons are, a DPS and a tank lagging behind shouldn't even be noticeable unless the entire team was autofollowing each other.

I didn't say they can't stay back, I said that if the cut scene blocks me and the other 6+ party members, because bosses don't start or there's a stupid door etc, I would have kicked that player. Because it goes both ways, everybody explaining that people are new and want to watch story is fine, but so is my opinion because I don't need to watch it another trillion times. But in most cases we do know, that they not just stay back and enjoy their cut scene, no now they are complaining that nobody waited, and in that case I am not even going to tolerate it. DF is not for new people to watch their cut scenes in, while complaining to veterans that they didn't waited, that's what the PF/FC and your friends are for. Like it or not.

    >The only cutscene in those entire two dungeons that cut you off from proceeding are the starting ones, right before the circle you spawn into disappears.
    >You don't have to watch the cutscenes just because they are
    >If they're rude, then yeah - they have the PF option if they want to enjoy the FULL run. Green leaf isn't equal to green flag for a**holery, but this doesn't seem to be the case with OP
    >DF is not for new people to watch cutscenes?... wat. Then I'll counter with "DF isn't necessarily for speed runs, because you can set up a PF with those requirements (while locking out new people, mind!)"

I see that some people already forgot how it is to be a new player to FFXIV
So I'd like to add my 2 cents as a sprout (1 month playing). I experienced almost exactly the same thing as the OP yesterday, even thought that it's the same run, but in mine it was a DPS player with the Crown - a Mentor - who was raging constantly.
We had 5 people with the sprout, so when I saw a person with a crown on the start, I was happy that we will have some help and explanations on bosses. I was so wrong. Said person was yelling non-stop that they don't have a time, that we have to pull more, that we should know how to do the fight (1st phase of the last fight where you have to load cannons), that people should stop to watch cut scenes...

I pointed once that as they can see, there are many new players in the run, so we obviously are not very familiar with fights, and that as a new healer with 2 new tanks in the group I find uncomfortable when a dps player constantly yells: "Pull more, pull everything!"
And what was their answer? No, not "Git gut" but "I don't believe that all these players are really new here".....
I see now from this thread, that these raging people are technically right: the run is easy, the cut scenes are extremely long, etc..
    But:
    1. New players do not know the length of the cut scenes.
    2. New players do not know that you can watch them later in the inn room.
    3. When you watch a CS for the first time, you have a popping up dialog about aborting the scene which takes more time than a regular CS automatic skipping after. Just to manually abort all the CS in Castrums during the first run takes time.
    4. New players are not extremely familiar with all the abilities and rotations or dungeon fights, so things that seems to veteran easy and obvious and "everyone already did it 100 times from the start of SB", are much more frightening and stressful for sprouts.

So if anyone would be so kind to point on the start of these problematic runs that the run itself is 15 min, while the CS are 45 min, and than you can watch them later in the inn, it would help a lot and in my opinion most of people would prefer to postpone CSs.
If you think that you can handle the run without new tanks that pull one pack at a time, please mention it in the chat. It is extremely stressful when half of the party sprint away shouting "Pull everything", while you as a new tank/healer left behind trying hectically to skip a cut scene.

And regarding that Mentor's behavior in my run - here I don't have any words.
I tried to find an option to blacklist them, so I would never see them in my runs but didn't find the button (new players, huh ^^)

SE needs to do a major overhaul of these dungeons. Cut every single scene out, put in in an instance with NPCs fighting with you and only make the major battles into trials.

It was definitely too much to make a topic over it.

I don't think what they said was a big deal.
