I just wanted to point out a little something here since this seems more like a new player thread. If SE was to do as you suggest and remove these from the roulette, then you would be waiting hours, if not days, to actually complete these things that are required to progress the game. Most people who have done this so many times absolutely hate to even have this pop up in a roulette because of the time requirement. That's the reason the current trend has become "tank agro everything and beeline straight for the boss room and mobs will reset". If you fall behind in that rush you will die. A lot. But that's the nature of the beast to get it done easily. The other route to go is to put up a PF for help saying you will be watching cutscenes. It may take a lot longer to get in but you won't have the issue that you had.

But OP was fine with letting the rest of the group run ahead.

Honestly, unless you were both tanks; that healer really was just being a jerk. You don't need 2 tanks for CM. It's usually 50/50 whether the off tank even grabs the adds in there when they go chasing the healer.

The only place I could possibly see it being an annoyance is right before Livia. But that place is generally a clusterfuck anyway since no one ever pulls back to canons anymore (which are often destroyed anyway).

Draxis, nah, I'm DPS. I can't handle Tanking or Healing, heh.

And honestly, the rest of the group was handling everything splendidly without us.

I am certainly going to take Vidu's advice for the Praetorium, though--I'll just unsync, or see if I can get some of my FC to join in instead.

I'm so sorry this happened to you! I usually skip dungeons cut scenes so i don't hold the run up for others (I'm usually on WHM) as I can watch the scenes later in my inn room or fc house. However, I don't yell at those who watch them in the dungeon as (as you said) that is how the game is intended to be played. Those who have playing a long while tend to try to fly through dungeons as fast as they possibly can because they've done them so many times and are ridiculously over-geared for the older ones. This is not an excuse but rather to tell you why this happens.

I hope this doesn't turn you off the game, it's a lot of fun!

Runs like these will happen from time to time. It sucks, but those Main Scenario dungeons are easy enough that a few people can clear it just fine while half the group watches cutscenes. I had a run in praetorium once where 5 people were new and wanted to watch the cutscenes. Me (MCH), the tank, and the healer basically blew through the place and downed a few of the bosses ourselves. No one was butthurt about it and it was actually a lot of fun because it provided just a sliver of challenge to those old instances. Don't let it get to you. Like you said, the majority of this community is incredibly friendly. But the bad apples tend to stand out like a sore thumb. Just don't let those bad times affect the way you enjoy the game. Happy adventuring! And welcome to Eorzea!

Jeez, sorry to hear that. While I never watched the cutscenes myself I've always been very vocal about letting people watch them, especially when I see someone getting ready to pitch a fit.

From my experience if you are going to go into dungeons with the intent of experiencing them on your terms you must either
    a) Skip the cut-scenes to accommodate people you don't know.
    b) Play with a group of friends who understand you value story and custcenes
or c) Develop a thicker hide and ignore people who want you to skip the content you enjoy.

I have a macro on my bar that says "I'm New to this area. As this is my first time, I will not be skipping any cutscenes; sorry for the inconvenience."
I leave it at that. I have only had one person gripe at me, and I promptly ignored them, everyone else has been pretty nice in one way or another.

Honestly, as a tank.. if people just tell me they are new and want to watch Cutscenes then I am more then okay with it. But if you don't tell me you're new, don't expect me to wait in those old dungeons.
That is one of the reasons why I never do MSQ Roulette though.. I utterly despise it.

You need to go with what the party is doing, they're running ahead? You run ahead. You and your friend leeched this party. I'd have booted you. Your experience is not worth more than mine or the parties.

    Oh I forgot to add
    d) Accept the fact that people like this guy (above), do not consider the party yours, but theirs, and you may have to suck it up or get kicked; or in the case you are the leader, they may leave. Again, if this bothers you, don't pug.
