A Tank not sprinting often means your stacks, buffs or procs fall of as a DPS, which is quite infuriating to deal with and slows down the run significantly. Just sprint. I always do when I tank, and others should as well.
I once had an amazing DF group in an expert roulette in terms of DPS and Healer damage, but the run overall still took the average 18 minutes instead of the fast 13~15 minutes, because the tank was dilly dalling around, never sprinting.

" Anyone Else Find Sprint No Longer Using TP Making Tanks Even Worse?"

Not really. It's just another one of the things they do I try to adjust to. In dungeons I am very familiar with, I have a tendency to sprint ahead of the tank if they pull with their AoE and I want to cure them during the pull so they don't leave me in the dust.

I'm actually kind of glad it no longer costs them TP. More of them do it now

i use sprint always for big pulls simply to get out of the auto attack range of the mobs and eat less damage while pulling. and the sooner i reach the next group and gather everything up the less damage i will take while pulling anyway...

and since i play DRK i already spintet when it was costing TP, since i use MP for my aoe attacks \^^/

It's fantastic when a tank uses sprint when pulling multiple packs. For the sole reason that he doesn't get his head smashed in as he is pulling packs. People should always sprint. It's not hard to do, it's free and it decreased time spent in dungeons. I always sprint when I'm tanking, although if I see the healer is slow, I will halt a bit. But usually, I don't understand what the big deal is.

Well if you read my first post properly you would know the tank had less than 20% hp left by the time he stopped moving. He got his "head smashed" even though he was sprinting.

I'm not saying what you said doesn't happen, it does. I have seen it numerous times and it is a legitimate pulling tactic. But I have also seen tanks get smacked around a lot anyway even with sprint. I suppose this happens when the mobs have ranged dps and/or if the pull isn't in a straight line so the mobs, especially ranged, can have the opportunity to get some hits in.

    Lol

I wouldn't say the game isn't fun, but the endless repetition becomes grating after a while. Being in and out faster helps with that a bit.

Ever heard of "It's the Journey, not the Destination"?

The journey is supposed to be fun too, and I dunno about you, sure maybe you get bored easily, but not everybody has a short attention span. But then again, I don't RUSHRUSHRUSH the content as soon as it is made available like a starving dog in a cage drooling over a steak either.

I do my daily roulettes and really the extra 5-10 minutes doesn't bother me whatsoever. If we get a slow group we get a slow group. Oh well. In fact, when I'm on my healer and the tank single-pulls, I love it. I can throw extra DPS and have a little fun. Sure beats Cure2 spam anyday. I can throw aeros, and stones and maybe a holy or three... it's a nice change-of-pace. Sure, it might take 5 or so minutes longer to do the dungeon, sure I might need to recast Protect as we're approaching the last boss of, say, Ala Mihgo or something but it doesn't bother me.

Partly because I don't spam dungeons non-stop and I don't try to rush to be first to endgame, lol.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't rush, but honestly if you do and then complain the game is boring, maybe you're just doing it wrong? It sounds like you are bringing a lot of it upon yourself. It isn't kosher to complain about a perceived problem that you cause yourself and then try to force everybody to tend to your needs despite what they might enjoy.

Ever heard that taking longer to do menial tasks, reducing the time available for enjoyable activities, is... less fun than the opposite? You're equating movement time and taking damage before any proper AoE or mitigation can be done to a "journey"...

Journeys, too, often take advantage of common sense in order to be (a) doable and (b) enjoyable. They don't refute the idea of using a car in order to get to your mountain hike...

But yet you are insisting that people go to ridiculous lengths to shave off meaningless amounts of time. Take, for example, the guy at the top of this page complaining that his "usual" (lol) runs take 13-15 minutes and he got one that was 18 minutes instead.

    Big freaking whoop.

If 5 minutes is so agonizing to to them that they're going to complain about it, then they should just log off the game. They've gotten to the point where it is no longer fun for them.

To be honest, if I were in a dungeon run that took 60 minutes+, then yes I would be annoyed because that's some serious dinking around/wiping/etc BS. But c'mon, 5 minutes? Are you kidding me? First-world problems, etc.

Fun fact: FFXIV was designed around the concept that you needn't rush anything and you're expected to play other games now and then, unlike most MMOs. I love this game, and this is one of the reasons why. Other MMOs want ALL of your available time and will punish you if you don't feed it enough.
