I know there's been a few times that as a healer I still have sprint on cooldown from the previous boss fight, and guess who missiles away.

A team that sprints together wins together.
A healer that doesn't sprint means bad times for everyone involved.
Don't be a bad healer, use your legs. Sprint is very good cardio!

Anyone ever mildly paying attention won't be caught off guard by a sprinting tank. In fact it should be expected of tanks to do so. When the fights over what else is the tank going to do? Just plop down for a group pep talk? Of course he's going to head to the next pack, and utilizing a free sprint is a no-brainer.
As a tank it's frustrating to pull a group only to find that the BLM and Sam were right on your heels every step of the way but your healers refused to pop sprint to keep up, forcing you to waste Living Dead or equivalent.
As a healer it's likewise frustrating to go watch a tank jog along getting clobbered by each addition pack he grabs while I'm sprinting circles around him trying to get him to wake up and stop taking avoidable damage without ripping agro by healing mid pull.
Sprint pulling is a win-win. The sooner it gets more widely utilized the better.
If I do run out of protect range before it's cast, I'll immediately stop and obediently wait for the healer to give it to me.
Whether I use sprint for chain pulls, I'm not sure on. Probably not. If I do end up dying from overpulling and not being in healer range, then I'll apologise for it, and not pull as hard.
Most of the time it's my fault. The remaining times are when a WHM decided to use Holy Spam instead, and I got used to that from all the ruined Blood Prices in Heavensward.
You can always use rescue on them!
Rescue has a ridiculous high range. So if the tank decides to sprint away from your protect/cures... just "rescue" them and put them right next to you.
As a healer main, I can understand your pain, OP, but at the same time I have trouble taking you seriously. I never summon/change fairies without swiftcast. There's barely any reason to save swiftcast now that stoneskin is removed and you shouldn't need to raise anybody in normal trashpulls (unless there's some lvl 60+ mandatory long-cast heal skill on SCH that I'm completely unaware of).
I agree with most of the previous posters who say to keep a close eye on tank and sprint when they sprint. Healers adapt, they're not set by rotations like tanks and dds. Besides, you gave the tank your leave to do a big pull, so obviously the tank thought it was a greenlight to go for it. Hardly his fault for not knowing you weren't ready when you gave the opposite reply. When I tank and get a 'greenlight' from the healer, I go for it and concentrate on aggroing everything+positioning them+cooldowns etc. and not worrying if the healer might be typing something.

See any screenshots? Any names? No. Everyone involved is anonymous but myself. Please don't start blaming me for something I didn't do.
I have honestly considered it, but I am inclined to think that very few tanks would take kindly to the spell being used that way, whether it prevented a wipe or not.
I did that until I had a situation in which someone died near the start of a boss fight and I couldn't find a window to hardcast a raise quickly. I got abuse for it. Supposedly I was a noob for using swiftcast on anything that wasn't a raise or heal. Can't please everyone![]()

recently had a tank that sprinted ahead and pulled 3 packs while my sprint was on cd. even holy ground and benediction could not prevent the wipe...
i don't mind tanks using their sprint, but if he ignores that the healer can't keep up for whatever reason then hf wiping
It's honestly only a big deal if you let it be. I've wiped a couple times in a few dungeons, some were my fault some were the healers. The death penalty isn't very big, and you lose maybe 5 minutes max. Just correct your mistakes and move on.
I've only had one person blow up over me using Str accessories borrowed from my monk main that caused the group to disband. If we had just done medium pulls of ~2-3 groups each we would have finished, but some people just become enraged if anything is delayed by more than a couple seconds.

I don't mind sprint on tanks. I used it in HW on drk in some dungeons where it made sense. Some tanks in SB sprint off before protect is cast. I use to give chase, then I just watched from a distance to see how much they would pull which was often more than I cared to catch up to healing. Some tanks just sprint to the first mob and stop there, I can catch up, heal them and slip a protect on them too. Varies by tank. The tanks that sprint off before protect, I stopped worrying about that. They would be back soon as their life expectancy was only a few second when pulling everything. Slap a protect on them when they came back. If they chewed me out, vote kick and problem solved. I have to say before I quit healing in SB, I saw more tanks vote kicked so far in 6 weeks SB than in 2 years of HW.
