Boss Mechanic Disappointment

Yojimbo, bad ass from FFX, a group of us let him get all the money to see if he would insta-wipe the group. To our collective disappointment he only dealt 25k. We would have loved to see him actually wipe the group. We made fun of him for it. Any other mechanics you would have loved to see have a different effect?

Yeah, no. Considering that Yojimbo needs a good relationship AND money to insta kill his enemies, looking at his master i can understand he doenst even want to do that.
Just let the money come in and tickle the enemies a bit before leaving. Win-Win.

Considering you don't kill him, you can expect him to return (maybe as a Trial and for giggles, with Odin) and have an instant-death Zanmato in the future.

It gives some bosses not as much but at least a bit of personality in the world itself.
Knowing SE also they bring him back to kick our ass in a stronger fight.
Remembr Diablos and Feridad, how much pain they were in Dun Scaith and a push over in there own Dungeons?
Seeing how he just leaves, we sure meet him again sooner or later and i am looking forward to it.

Yojimbo was part of the Susano fight in the benchmark video. It would be interesting if he randomly spawned in during future boss fights, maybe at a 10% chance, and defeating him would give additional rewards.

That would be interesting, but boss mechanics would have to adapt to accomodate this. In fights like Susano and Lakshmi for instance, there is no room to fight an additional enemy alongside all the mechanics that the bosses themselves offer. I worry that boss mechanics might end up leaving empty holes just to accomodate a potential Yojimbo spawn, or Yojimbo spawning would basically mean a wipe for your party.

However, I do not believe that we've seen the last of Yojimbo just yet. I wouldn't be surprised if he were to make a reappearance somewhere down the line in Stormblood.
