Tired of Robe-looking armor

Not just robe but pseudo dresses or flowy cape. There's barely any non-cape form fitting armor.

Anyway, my point is with new SB armors, it's a missed chance to add other kinds of variety.

There is plenty of non-flowy armour, or is your problem that there's not enough -new- non-flowy armour?

Also we know how Ala-Mhigans tend to dress...they got a lot of flowy stuff. The Domans are known for kimonos and such the like. Why is anyone surprised we got flowy gear? I bet if we got very little other players would be complaining that the gear doesn't correspond to the cultures of both nations.
