This makes no sense. For there to be no new gear to glam in to there would have to be no new gear. There is plenty of it, it just so happens that it's not to everyone's taste. Not liking the new gear is not the same as having nothing new to glam in to.

There really isn't "plenty" (especially for non-melees) relative to how many pseudo-dresses we get saddled with every time new armor is added. IF we get something that's not a dress, tunic or a coat it's often bare-chested (on males) for the most part or its got friggin dangling bits of useless fabric that serves no purpose at all.
The Thancred Modish body slot item would be an amazing option.... if it didn't have those long green strips of fabric hanging from it and it were dyeable.
We did get one nice non-pseudo dress chest option in SB but sadly its restricted to gatherers (talking about the Gyuki Leather Jacket).
The chest options that aren't pseudo-dresses or long coats and also aren't virtually bare chested, are very few and very far between.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

That kind of misses the point, imo.
We all know we can just slap a glam on it...though honestly, if you don't want robes your options there are effectively "fancy dress, bikini, or casual wear" besides a couple non-robey items.
But it would be nice to be able to run up to the new tome vendor on day 1 and be excited when you try on the gear you're going to get in a couple weeks instead of going "oh...another <butt cape, robe that covers the rest of my glamour, or coat>." Other roles have a wider range of aesthetics, from tanks getting that awesome flowing PvP dress-robe-whatever-you-want-to-call-it, to ranged alternating between flowy shirts, long coats, fitted tops, etc.
Healers and casters almost always, with a few obvious exceptions such as the Eikon gear in post 5, get something that includes a hip scarf, butt cape, long coat or robe, etc, with not a lot of variance even amongst that - we don't have anything as grand as the tank robe mentioned before, but we don't have anything super casual (but still fitting our role) like some of the ranged gear. It seems there's a few set "bases" they start with (a top with hip cape/capes on the back or side such as the Hailstorm, Creation, and Ironworks (caster) gear; a coat such as the Shire gear and a few others; and a top or tabard that has a bunch of random stuff slapped on the hips like belts, pouches, extra cloth, etc) and don't deviate far from often. Even floor length robes such as the Void Ark robe don't happen nearly as much as those do, and those are what I imagine when I think "magic user."
They can come up with DoM gear that's tops like the Gyuki gathering top (slap a shawl on it or something if you want it to be ~magic~ themed), more tops that don't cover the bottoms (and allow "extra parts" bottoms their parts, such as Light Steel Subligar and Eastern Lady's Loincloth) like the Shisui or Bunny tops, short robe/tops like the Chivalric Doublet and Company Tabard, etc. Or, they can add more diverse lv1 glamour gear that includes pieces that look like armor (not necessarily metal, just not t-shirts and fancy dresses). Even the Ala Mhigan gear, despite still being robes, is a breath of fresh air because it's different enough.

There is no apostrophe in Au Ra.
Stop adding one three years later.
I own a lot of glam and a majority of anything with complexity or good design is a cape or a dress or a overcoat or side coat or half coat or 3/4 coat or 1.375ths of a coat.
Sky rat stuff is what we need, not more trench coats.
I just want more sleeveless shirt options.
Id also love to see more chest gear that didn't cut off extra parts attached to leg gear, There is no way to glamour a nice chest piece to go with the Shisui Aiming pants because outside of bikinis (Colosseum stuff is still bikinis!) they all cut the ribbons off and remove the waist plate part.
I'd also love the ability to toggle "dress" type chest pieces to show or remove the bottom dress/skirt part. The level 70 AF Summoner chest is amazing, But It'd fit my glamour even better if I could remove the bottom dress part.
More visual customization is never a bad thing.

This is actually a bloody brilliant idea. And I know for a fact it wouldn't be hard to introduce seeing as the chest and leg parts have separate textures, and I know this because I have seen gear bug out with the bottom half missing![]()

I don't know about you, but I like it when my mages don't look like mages. Though I also don't want them looking like they're in armor. Case in point:
The character to the left is mine. No magely robes to speak of.
As the previous user suggested, make use of glamour prisms. That's what they're there for.

Yeah I like playing caster but I lack armor that aren't robe or just cool at all. I'm mostly using i220 crafted gear or lvl 1 glamour, I'd like to actually have gear for my job that I'm glad to wear.
I'm really looking forward to the implementation of the caster contest winner's design. There's RDM now using caster gear too, would be nice having more leather armor and less robe.

1000 times yes. I especially love the 70 job quest gear (especially WHM and AST) but at this point I can't use either unless I want one of them to look like crap (my gear is a random mix of Omega normal and Creation gear). What I really want is glamming to be tied to classes, not gear. I have the same glam on all three healers because of this. I really would like to be able to have them all look different given that their class storylines are very different. It's boring for anyone who likes playing classes that share gear to look the same all the time despite not playing the same class all the time.

I just want better armor AND better robes.... Some of the robes come with too much stupid crap attached to them....
I also agree with the idea glam should be class based.
