I would like to see only new stuff for a while, make things from scratch, recycle nothing.

I'm waiting for these things for a while, maybe when FFXIV goes F2P we get them, maybe.

Honestly I completely agree, but it's a waste of time to express disappointment in it.
FFXIV is designed so that you can do everything in as little time as possible (which seems antithetical to what an MMO should be, but that's personal opinion). Because of this, they know and don't care one bit if players unsub once they complete endgame content; the game is designed a that you basically have to stop playing after a certain amount of time.
Because they chose this design, it seems to me that their entire subscription model is based upon having more new players coming in than old players going out. Since they know old players will be unsubbing once they hit caps / beat Savage / can't gear up anymore, most stuff is aimed towards newer / less geared players.
Unless more people start unsubbing than those starting to sub (which doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon) the recycled weekly lockouts system will continue for the rest of the game's lifespan.

Tl;dr: the reason so much content is recycled is because players aren't expected to be exposed to content enough to feel the 'recycled' nature of the content

Its really sad that this is not even two months after launch and I dont even log in daily..I know that there will be a point where content becomes boring but I am a bit shocked that it became that way shortly after finishing the main story. (For me) Till now I dont even have one new gear piece from the new tomestones, because why should I even get them, if everything other than savage can be done without it?

I am also not really sure why we did not at least get one completely new piece of content with 4.0. I did the MSQ at a relative slow pace and yet I was finished quite fast. So its not like you have so much new stuff to do till the new 4.1 patch comes out. They are teasing us with stuff like Eureka for a long time, so why was this not ready for launch?

In a way this is like HW in just a different color with nothing completely new at the same time..if I didnt have a house ingame that I want to keep I would probably even make my first bigger break of this game..but sadly thanks to that I cant unsub for now. I really hope that this new content that is coming is worth it.

I know there's "the housing issue" but seriously, if they are bored, people should just cancel their subs, and go somewhere else, it's what every normal person does: you're not going to pay to force yourself to play a game you feel you've completed. What's the big deal ?

This is what happens all the time: people come back after months to try out the new expansion, complete it in one or two months, and then they leave. That's not so weird. Just put the game in hiatus, and come back when you feel like it.

And the housing market be damned.
You actually mention the exact issue why I keep my sub running. My OH and me have waited a long time to get a house in the spot where we wanted it and it drained our funds quite a bit. While we are bored, we both still love FFXIV and the idea that the house will be gone and we can't have a new one because of the market is quite a turn off.

FFXIV is designed for you to take breaks but when they introduced housing decay because of their sub optimal housing setting, they knew what they were doing. It's not just because of the system but they know that people get attached to their houses and keep paying despite not playing.

Final fantasy is a game that bores me to tears. The only reason I subscribe to it is to roleplay with my fc. I just can't get interested in a system where I do one expert roulette a day and then cap out after 5 days of a 20-30 minute dungeon leaving nothing else worth doing. It's so incredibly frustrating. WoW lets you keep working on progression endlessly every week. You put into it however much time and effort you want.

It's nice that you bring up D3, because after the release of the last ladder season on 07/20 with a peak of 20k+ viewers, they're already down to 25% of that, too, about 2 weeks later.

The average viewers on D3 are higher on Ff14, yes, but the graphs don't look thaaaat different in regards of peaks and such.

I have zero issue with Stormblood. I like the system personally as a working adult it makes me feel like i can still get somewhere in end game content with how they roll everything out. Sure relic grinds might be slightly out of my reach, but I still do them, just at a much slower pace.

Using twitch is a poor way of seeing popularity of a game. Not every game is interesting to watch on Twitch, this is one of them.

All of this being said I don't play for just the game. I play for my awesome FC which goes and does events at least once a week. Maybe you just need a new way to enjoy the game that way! The true end game is spending time with friends, and of course, that GLAMOUR

Forgive my stupidity in my old age but couldn't that suggest that more people were actually playing the game then watching others do it?
Outside of the occasional boss kill on YouTube, I cannot see how anyone would want to sit and watch someone play an MMO – watching someone else sinking their time into it...madness. But, eh , each to their own I guess.

See, that type of system doesn't appeal to me. While I like the idea of Mythic+, I dislike RNG based progression where I'm just grinding endlessly. It's why I could never get invest with Black Desert. Likewise, I get bored with gear that takes several years to actually obtain. I know why others like that; the idea it'll last for ages holds value. I simply can't get into a system like that because I don't place much significance on gear. "Is it better than what I have? Yes. Cool." Half the reason I bother with relics is because they're pretty and I've been on something of an achievement hunt lately. That's why I wouldn't want XIV pulling every idea it can from WoW. Sure, take inspiration or borrow ideas but if I wanted WoW, I'd be playing that instead.
