You can also run dungeons at different difficulties, something that a lot of FF14's playerbase has been asking for, harder 4-man content. Then you have raid with 4 difficulties covering every kind of players, where I would argue that FF14 only covers casual and hardcore players. Then you have weekly quests with evolving areas.
World Quests are a great for casual players, I wish Square would implement something like it for FFXIV. There are so many good things from other MMOs that would be amazing in FFXIV.

Yes, extremely dissapointed in SB continuing the formula of logon after reset and run the hamster wheel of roulettes while sitting around in the current endgame social area. I could live with it, if there were more variety (i.e. the ability to play another job as you would an alt in another game and continue running the content). I get that some like the side non character progression content (mounts, minions, glamours, beast quests, etc...), but personally I hate fluff activities. They could have done much better to satisfy more types of players.

I mean if your doing savage you could do all of it in crafted 320 gear so the complaint on not being able to take alts in there I do not understand , how many people have a full 340 set right now Its totally impossible atm. I honestly play about 10 plus hours a day haha thats alot and I dont really run out of stuff to do, I worry I will tho but in reality its very hard to run out of things to do. I think SE could add more to the game but I still believe no matter what they bring out people will rush through it and be right back here on the forums making post like this.

In WoW Legion if you do not grind to keep up on AP you will be ejected from your raid group. If you do not run the world quests (which are litterally FATES) then you deny yourself chances at legendaries. If you do not grind then you do not get your chance at random loot, with random stats, that has a chance to roll a random +55 ilvl boost to let you skip the current raid tier. World Quests do not revive any old content, it only exists in the new content. You do not "see new areas" its the same areas you already ran through every time. Besides the new zone, the rest of the world is pretty damn empty. So you can argue that they only succeeded in making the most recent tiny section of the world actually have a population in it. Which granted that is an improvement over Borelords of Draenor.

Simply put, Legion is the polar opposite of Draenor and people still hate it. Instead of being stuck in 1 garrison all the time you got a garrison and you have to go run around in the most anti-flying expansion to date, through the most anti-ground mount maze terrain to date, to play through "content" that is in essence smash your head against a wall for an unknown amount of hours hoping something falls out. Especially that Best in Slot legendary your raid team wants you to have or they will replace you with someone who already has their best in slot legendary.

WoW Legion right now is basically a diabloified version of WoW. People only keep coming back because they are required in order to compete, not because they actually like the content. In fact, going by their forums, they largely vehemently hate it. Especially once they found out that everything they do is going to be worthless as its only for this expansion. An expansion where the only thing consistent is how much you grind for inconsistent reward.

There are plenty of good reasons why my WoW friends abandoned the game.

But anyway, I agree that rng is bad and that playing all of Legion's content could feel meaningless after a while if you didn't get your legendary (or a crappy one), but that's not my point. The fact is Legion uses its areas and it works. Something I would really like FF14 to try too.

My point isn't that FF14 should do the exact same thing as WoW, but that it should also use its world more. I mean FF14 has beautiful areas and it's been bothering me since ARR that it doesn't bring players into them. World Quest is something that I enjoyed doing in WoW and I'd love something along those lines in FF14. I don't mean by that the exact same copy as it wouldn't work in FF14, but something similar that would give me a reason to play outside its cities.

I Agree with the , "using old area's for new content", the game is amazing, and I think it would be good to do a few things. 1, add flying to older zones "same requirements or either tracking, but allowing max players to travel quicker", and push players to kill or quest in older zones, not just story/main but some hunts etc. like fate's have u lvl-sync, I see this as keeping everyone engaged in older zones, a lot of folks have missed out on some of the older zones. just my .02

I think the opposite: FF XIV has just enough. One of the problems that I had with Legion (played it until Stormblood launched) is that there is too much to do. In order to feel like you "kept up" you had to do way too much stuff every day and every week. In Stormblood, I like there is less to do. Works better with my schedule and allows me to do other things (games, books, movies) without feeling like I'm falling behind because I'm not maxing our my AP or playing the RNG game in Mythic+.

Now I get other players may feel differently because of the amount of play hours they have, but honestly, I really don't want any more to do. I would love more dungeons in the roulette and new content faster, but I don't want more things to do. At all.

I would like to see only new stuff for a while, make things from scratch, recycle nothing.

I'm waiting for these things for a while, maybe when FFXIV goes F2P we get them, maybe.
