BF bought the full game (RR, HW, SB) pack and is getting "code invalid"

Did he do the free trial on Steam and then buy the game somewhere else? (not on Steam)

That would be one reason, once a Steam trial is used the game has to be bought on Steam as well.

Otherwise you'd need to contact where you bought it from I'm afraid (as they're the ones that supplied the code).
