I'd rather allow my HP to drop to 25% as a tank and deal with the possibility of a wipe, than deal with a healer who sits idle with the excuse "But my role is to only heal".
Too many times have I seen a healer who sits by even when it's clear I won't be dying in the next 20 seconds, And will refuse to toss out a single Stone IV.
I'm not saying you should go all Gung-ho and out DPS the actual DPS in your group, But to at least show you're putting in effort. Doing otherwise just makes you an anchor to the group.

My guess would be new spell, non BRD probably never read ab out it

This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

For normal omega, I expect many casual healers whom are not very familiar are rolling for a better queue. I run into many whom are really bad. Just overheal for days, and still don't know that Thunder III is a tank buster. So they just rely on the other healer that knows what they are doing.

Tanks should love good bards. With Nature's Minne, Pallaside, Troubadour, and Foe being available. All have utility to help out HP management and mob debuffs, the problem might be finding one that can use all those buttons.

Get new healers. Bads will be bad, regardless of role.

    Healer's priority should be:
    1. Stay alive
    2. Heal
    3. DPS

If they are not in danger of dying and can't be arsed to do the basic thing that is required of them, then they are disposable and you should not feel bad for replacing them.

What's up with tanks not using their tank stance or defensive cds?
What's up with dps doing crap damage or standing in telegraphs?

There are bad players everywhere in every role. You can't avoid it unless you only play with premade groups.

I've seen this a lot since Stormblood came out. Healers who don't heal. We also have many tanks who don't tank now. The main problem is that tanks have become squishier and more dependent on cooldowns and actually using their tank stance while healers have gone DPS happy. Some want to blame it on healers getting yelled at for not dpsing enough. I tend to think this is more a problem on the forums than in game as I have NEVER been yelled at for healing instead of dpsing and I don't dps unless everyone is healed up first. I use df all the time for dungeons and such and have tanks who are complete strangers to me compliment me on my healing.

All this said, if a healer is not healing, kick them out. If a tank isn't using tank stance or cd's kick THEM out. It all comes down to doing the job you queued to do and if you don't, you get kicked.

I dps on a healer but only when I know it's safe, no upcoming tank busters, not low on mp, everyone is topped off. I've let my tanks health drop fairly low in dungeons but only when I know I can get it back up in time. It really frustrates me when I see healers 100% dps or dps at bad times. If you aren't comfortable with the fight you should probably focus just on your main job.

well, people consistently demanding healers focus on dsp probably has something to do with it. Enjoy the result.....

But... All you need is an excog either before or after the tankbuster? That's an offglobal too, it's not exactly hard to press...

I main tank, and tank savage, but I heal in the normal raids, and I've found that if the party knows and does the mechanics, you barely need to heal outside of indom and excog. And I see paladins clemency over my excog til it falls off, I've been told nobody trusts my heals, I've had my cohealer spam cure determinedly over and over when I've got aetherpact up...

Honestly as a healer a lot of the time I'd like my cohealer to dps MORE. And for paladin to STOP using CLEMENCY ON MY EXCOG AAAAAAAAAAA.

(palisade and nature's minne are both op as hell and I will comm any bard using them on me)

you know...I absolutely agree on kicking the bads out. Especially after trying to give them some advice which most of them happily ignore.
But....WHY OH WHY...are people SO DARN RELUCTANT to kicking bads? Its almost as if they fear that their game gets deleted and that they'll be reborn as a cockroach as a result of bad karma if they do.

I'm not exaggerating or anything when I say that 80-90% of my commenced votekicks on auto-attack dps, afk healers or lol-wut-r-cooldowns tanks are being rejected.
Then you'd think "Okay, maybe these people are friends who queued up together"....just to check the "contacts" tab in your menu and see all 3 people are from 3 different servers.

...Why people, why? You do NOTHING to improve the quality of the playerbase by carrying them. They WILL learn their lesson if they get kicked frequently ...IF YOU'D ONLY DO IT. ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)
