POTD: Deep Palace Gigantoad

AKA the patrols from 121-125. I've spent countless hours soloing/duoing high floors in POTD (probably 300+ if not more), but I can never understand how their sticky tongue stun works. In general, I thought it only stuns you if it pulls you from range (so if you stand in melee range you're fine for the most part), but sometimes I have gotten stunned in melee range, leading to some extremely close calls (and a few wipes... you can get crit for ~10K by labored leap without steel).

Does anybody know EXACTLY how that stun works?

IIRC: Sticky Tongue will only drag/stun you if it hits you, if it misses (Shields might work too) it doesn't work.

I'd have to go test it but I'm like 90% sure that's the way it works, if so it wouldn't matter what range it hit you with it only that it hit you.

If you jump the tongue won't get you. Seems to work for me

I've never heard about jumping... maybe I'll try it out.

And assuming it doesn't miss/get shielded, sticky tongue ALWAYS drags (unless you have surecast or something up), but only sometimes, it'll stun you for 5 seconds. I'm trying to find out exactly what that "sometimes" is...
