just my two cents... i play exclusively on my alienware m11x r2 i5 and i would not recommend it, it's definitely playable but not ideal.

I also gotta recommend an ASUS G73JW. It is a serious beast for the price. Has an HDMI output and the video card supports 3D so you can get a separate monitor to play on and and use the laptop display for browsing or w/e. If not the screen is still massive(1920x1080). Backlit keyboard is also nice. Keep in mind though you'll probably want to uninstall a lot of the programs preloaded on it if you get it.
There are many different versions, I got mine new for $1,750. I've seen ~$1,500 though.

Jacob: I was considering a G73J, but it just skims right outside my price range.
Neptune: I said a GAMING laptop, not a fancy bookshelf. (I am VERY anti Apple, by the way.)
argwings: I wasn't looking at alienware, they're way out of my price range for the performance. Thanks for the heads up, though, as I was considering them at one time.
BelgainRofl: Nothx
Sounds like I should look at the Toshiba ones. Ill also take a look at some of the other suggestions. Thanks for the input guys, keep it coming.
Asus G73JW go for it!
LMFAO and you suggesting he buy Alienware.... Dont do This ^^you actually paid money for a gateway and are proud of it??
sorry, I really don't want to or mean to be a di--.
Moving on. I know they are expensive, but I've owned 2 different systems now and Alienware has always delivered dollar for dollar, and you can escape with a decent one for about $1500 nowadays.
If you look at the 9-1100 range you can find a couple great 15" and 17" Sony Vaio's with core i5's and 7's, 8 gb memory, and radeon HD's that will do the trick as well.
The fact you chose an X58 to build in Feb puzzles me. 24 GB RAM big waste of money for most.. P67 FTW and the same cost. I built in January a
CASE: HAF X CoolerMaster
MOBO: Gigabyte P67A-UD5
CPU: I7-2600k @ 4.7 60Celcius under Full Load
RAM: 4GB Dominator GT 1866 CL8
HD: 640GB SATA3 6.0GB Going to upgrade when prices on SSD fall
GPU 2x EVGA GTX 570 @ 800/1600/2000 W/ 3D Vision Kit
PSU: Corsair 950TX
COOLER: Noctua NH-D14
Monitor: Benq XL2410 120Hz 23.6 Inch
LoL and a keyboard I found at the bottom of some guys driveway....
I love it... its ma baby ^^
But yeah is there any reason why you chose to go with the X58? Just curious..
3D Vision on this game pwns lol ^^
Asus G73JW seems like a little beast of a laptop ^^ Maybe you can find one with new Sandy Bridge chips..

I have a HP DV6 (i5 quad version) and surprisingly it can run the game pretty well, but thats probably because due to the resolution the highest res I use is 720p lol. I have high textures and things, Shadows off, and 2x AA. About 30fps, can get daunting in places such as Bloodshore/Broken Water
