SOOOooo... gil making as a BTN?

So, I wanted to know 3 things:
1 - Why bother with getting 1200 perception? the investment in melds doesn't seem to justify it, really looks like it's a waste of gil ATM.
2 - Is there another way to make gil with the class that I'm not seeing?
3 - And the yellow scrip gear? I seem to have hit the cap for everything with i290 HQ crafted, is there even a point in farming those?

1. Seems currently no need for HQ as much, but may need it for future patches.
2. Spiritbonding. Take some NQ gear (buy it from the vendors in Reach or Kugane) meld any 2 materia in it (Take those cheap DEX materia that people are selling for under vendor price for example) and hit some nodes 67 and above, and also timed Folklore nodes. Take the AlC Spiritbonding potion and you should get some tier Vs and VI materia from it.
b. Don't think big ticket items all the time, farm up items that constantly move as well. It does add up. Aetherial Reduction. You will harvest clusters and crystals like no ones business, and sands.
3. The Scrip Gear was never really a BiS (it wasn't in HW either) It's main purpose was to help players who hated melding reach stats that made it good enough for them to be able to reasonably craft/gather a considerable amount of recipes.
