It is also not about copying other MMO's. some aspects are just required to be in all MMO's. Like... Leveling up... etc lol. Not being frozen in place to enter and exit combat is one of them.

Absolutely. Sometimes it's hard to decide which is the lesser of two evils, running around in active mode with reduced run speed, or the 3 second freeze every time you pull out or put away your weapon. Both only serve to break the flow of combat.
