I would love to see this but it's been mentioned time and time again. This topic was beat to death in the beta phases. I'm beginning to wonder where all that "invaluable" feedback went...
/signed.
Also make this happen for shields too...
Stopping when you drop your shield is dumb as hell also.
I'd prefer if buffing didn't require you to be in active mode, rather than entering active mode while running.
Both are wonderful features though ;P
No.. you dont stall at all in WoW. you can run around all day hitting the z button at the same time and you will continuously ready and sheath your weapon without stopping. I have done it when I was bored... and no Elder Scrolls: Oblivion doesnt do this either, neither do Fallout 3 or new vegas....you stop for .5 seconds >.> you guys know that right. You run stop for .5 secs as you draw then run.
I played Aion and well every other rpg. ffxi does this too. As there is no way to run WHILE drawing your weapon. You stop just for a bit. Pay attention more. Even WoW does this. You run you stall .5 sec then run. Its quick but noticeable. Elder scrolls does this also. You need to steady yourself and grab hold a weapon. Please in gaming sence running+ drawing weapons is 2 animations. It is hard to run both at ones. So there is a stall.
Kilta knows all, you're just dumb. Not sure why someone bringing up wow alot but uhh, only time you stop moving is if your like a hunter using a "channeled" ability or a mage casting a "channeled" ability or any other class with some "channeled" ability.
There is no stopping to do normal attacks or "instants", you can run around out of combat, and stab rats without stopping, there is no .5sec stop, unless your PC is so terrible its lagging to load the animation files to stab that Lv 1 rat (in which case how are you even playing ffxiv)
Anyway I'm all for constant on the move in/out of combat mode and usage of "instant" abilities. It would slightly speedup the pace of battle overall I think.
Its somewhat noticeable for people without the lancer lv 20 ability quickstride in like a behest (or leve), when you run vs people going in and out of combat mode constantly falling far behind as they do that.

This is true ^^. Basically speaking... FFXI and FFXIV are the ONLY MMO's that make you stop to ready or un-ready your weapon or to start casting a spell. Not sure why someone bringing up wow alot but uhh, only time you stop moving is if your like a hunter using a "channeled" ability or a mage casting a "channeled" ability or any other class with some "channeled" ability.

+1 with pudding on top. Stopping to cast a spell is cool imo, I could live witht hat... But if I wanted to pull a flashlight out of my belt while running I wouldn't need to stand still to do so....
