    First of all... running around with sharp/pointy thing is dangerous!

    I don't mind stopping to change from active/passive mode.

    However, I do mind that every single action that you perform has to change into passive mode.

    It might be simpler if SE made it so that any hostile action against mob would put you into active mode.

    As well as add opening skills that doesn't have delay from going passive to active against mob.

    Like... Jump kick for Pugs! or Iai for Gladiator XD

    No, you dont have to stop and draw your weapon in WoW... This would be a fine idea

    I would like this. Stopping in my tracks to get in and out of active mode is annoying and unnecessary.

    What are you on? I think you have it backwards. MOST mmorpgs do not make you completely stop and wait a couple seconds to fully have your weapon out.

    I wasn't trying to be negative, I am agreeing with the suggestion. My point is, that until they fix this, using quickstride to do what it is intended to do (flee from mobs or catch up to fleeing mobs) there is too much delay to use the abilty and put away your weapon to make it worth while.

    Currently, I only use it to tease my LS mates and run around them in circles.

    This, exactly. I saw a lowbie fighting something too strong and went about curing him while playing as pug (cure 2 is equipped). After the fight he thanked me and then said he got kind of freaked at first because my weapons were drawn and he thought i was going to MPK him... lol

    You should be able to cast magic (Cure, raise, etc), use Quickstride without taking weapon out. As a Miner, I can use any of the Prospect abilities (Miner's Flee) without ever having to draw my pick axe. So it's clearly not impossible to do this with other abilities.

    In FF11 as a mage it was nice to cast spells without going in to battle mode. I miss that.

    you stop for .5 seconds >.> you guys know that right. You run stop for .5 secs as you draw then run.
    I played Aion and well every other rpg. ffxi does this too. As there is no way to run WHILE drawing your weapon. You stop just for a bit. Pay attention more. Even WoW does this. You run you stall .5 sec then run. Its quick but noticeable. Elder scrolls does this also. You need to steady yourself and grab hold a weapon. Please in gaming sence running+ drawing weapons is 2 animations. It is hard to run both at ones. So there is a stall.

    bow to add if you can't run at all and stop fir a few secons to do it then That is completely different. Just ask for a faster transition between active and passive mode. But there is a stall to draw out your weapon due ti the 2 different animation. You guys may not notice it since it is so quick. Weapon drawing and running are 2 seperate animations and takes .5-1 sec to switch between. Like run> weapon drawn> run.
    I been playing games a long time and learned to pay attention to details.
