In 1.19, savage might materia increased your crit rate, not the power. Not sure if it's still the same now.
I would probably just stuff PIE in there. Look in Carraway's thread for more info.

?? o.O
Proof please. Personally I've never tested that in particular, but during Ifrit fights I've always noticed an increase in crit dmg, not rate, from those with more than one savage might.
i agree, my friends and i have tested and still currently are testing this theory with myself and 2 other archers my self focusing on attack power on gear (not crit attack power). one with crit attack power / crit rate and last person focusing on base stats like Pie and Dex but i'm not posting all my info cause i like people to go out and take the time and learn on their own Cough Cough..... what is best to play there class but i will say this i hit like a truck with my iffy bow 30atk and 50atk on my gloves but against the guy stacking crit attack/ crit rate he had roughly 20% more crits then i did and sadly i was out damagedand this is in single target fights

Pretty sure it increases crit damage. I've been through enough variations of savage might bodies with everything else the same to tell the difference of my crit ceiling rising noticeably.
Besides, there is already a crit rate stat explicitly on certain weapons/gear. Savage Might gives Crit Potency. Why differentiate if they both do the same thing?
As for the topic, I feel like ARC has much more use for higher average damage on Light Shots rather than a higher critical ceiling. I would probably go with a PIE body - though personally I still use my Crit +66 body because... well because I have one >_<.
