Trading to interrupt Teleport fix gone?

    Hey all,

This is probably going to start a new wave of trolling but ever since SB dropped, I've noticed that the ability to trade a player to interrupt their teleport is back. I thought this was fixed in the latter stages of HW, so my request is... could the Dev Team please bring back this anti-trolling measure?

Edit: Here's the patch where it happened.
"Players can no longer initiate a trade with players casting a spell."

    Thanks!

I don't think this was ever removed/fixed. No idea where you're getting that from. The workaround though is to put up /busy.

Yeah I doubt this was ever fixed, but they could at least make it so if you try to trade with a player casting Teleport or Return they'd get an error message saying "That player is busy".

    Found it:
"Players can no longer initiate a trade with players casting a spell."

This meant we could no longer be trolled while casting teleport. My guess is this was implemented in certain versions of FFXIV that was accidentally left out of the final code for the international Stormblood release.

Could we please have this back?

Either way this shouldn't happen. What's with all the trolls these days?

Basically, they fixed it to a point...if you initiate a trade just as someone starts teleporting, it doesn't work. However, if you initiate the trade right as they are about to finish it will go through and block them. My friends and I troll one another this way all the time.

Prior to that update, you could interrupt someone's teleport at any point. The timing is tighter now, but it's still possible to do. So, it was never really fixed at all.

So... basically the server update checks are too slow to fix this? Nice!

It's actually pretty easy to still screw up someone's teleport. My BF and I mess with one another like this still.

I believe this is the case, once the spell finishes but before the location transfer completes, the block can occur. They'd probably have to code in some sort of delay after actions that also blocks trades, but might make trading in general more sluggish.

They could just code it that if you cast teleport/return you're blocked from receiving trades for 10 seconds? Whether or not you cancel it. Sure, it's a bit ham fisted, but it would almost guarantee to make sure you couldn't get tradeblocked from teleporting.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
