It makes me happy to hear players were able to find classes they enjoy.
Red mage surprised me also! Such a great class design. Let's hope the core mechanics are never changed.

RDM, but not in a good way. I LOVE casters (they're my favorite jobs after healing). I was so stoked for RDM. I even enjoyed leveling RDM during early access week and through the whole MSQ.
However, my interest in it has quite literally plummeted to almost non-existant. Sadly, my SMN love has waned a bit too (though no where as much as RDM).
On a positive note, I love BLM even more than I did in HW, and exponentially more than in ARR.

Even though the job is having an identity crisis at the moment, I love and still call Machinist my main. All of the gun noises, the clackity-clack of reloading, deployment of drones, cool magitek animations make it all worth it to me. I play PLD as my tank and AST as my healer so im not worried about not finding raid groups or getting heckled. I play MCH because I love MCH plain and simple, I level it for me.
Flesh grows weak. Steel becomes brittle. But the will is indomitable.
Yes, after all the Hype I thought the Red Mage would be much better than it is.
This was a surprise to me.

I wouldn't say surprised.
I usually prefer a fast class so MNK was just my type, until SB mucked it up with Riddle of Fire and its clunkiness.
Tried SAM and it was close enough to MNKs old playstyle to tolerate it, so now I just need to finish leveling it to see if it becomes more enjoyable.

I'm still cooping with the changes to DRK, but so far I've been loving PLD and RDM far more than expected. SAM is enjoyable but it's something I need to be in the mood for. Still leveling DRK out of love for the class but man do I miss it's former complexity and risk/reward. However while I initially didn't care for the new Delirium it has my favorite animation thus far.
I do need to make a mention to RDM for being the most simplistic class I've played and somehow thoroughly enjoying. Being a mage that benefits from being in melee full time has been amazing. Having actual party utility (something PLD showed me I love) has been amazing and I canno wait to get my ver-raise. The only thing I don't enjoy is the stance but thankfully it's casting animations are fantastic.
Red Mage and Samurai are probably the most well-done DPS jobs they've created in FFXIV so far.
I'm impressed that they made Red Mage feel unique while staying true to what it is with the balance of Black and White magic and how Dualcast works. It's super simple and super enjoyable which every job should be like.
I just think Samurai is fun, very fluid and satisfying to play compared to the rest of melees.

Very surprised with BLM and RDM. BLM became very smooth to play with given the changes in Enochian and some skill for fast casting. RDM was pleasant from the very beginning at lv50 and don't disappoint at lv70 at all with a very versatile way of being a caster.
On the other hand, SMN was a total disappointment with how punishing it is and the amount of skills you have to pull out to do average dps. Went from a nice job to a clunky and not rewarding job at all, in my opinion.

I started playing ARC and I have it on 24 and I really need to get back to doing that.
It's been more enjoyable and very surprisingly I've managed to earn Commendations -- as a DPS -- just by being able to kite crap by circle-strafing lol.
Somehow, in POTD, as a ARC (not BRD!) at Lv60, I can usually be in the top 2 DPS against people with actual jobs and not basic classes, lol. I don't need no BRD crystal to kick some serious horsebutt as ARC. I dunno if I'm getting commendations because people are surprised that a jobless ARC can do that much DPS, or is it because I actually know how to move and attack as I see lots of BRDs just stand in one place like they're a BLM or something.
