    get rid of leve Allowances

My GF started leveling crafting and gathering starting from level 1 on most of these jobs, so going all the way to 50 at least to start doing collectables can take a lot of leves and once you run out you can't really level crafts and gathers until they recharge.

this really makes starting crafting feel like some cheap facebook game where you have to wait until your energy to come back before you can do things again. and with a low recharge rate once you run out it takes forever for them to get high enough to start leveling properly again. Also the lack there of crafting quest or just alternate leveling routes pre-level 50 makes this part a complete mess

So I think the best course of action is to do away with the allowances completely

You could always.. ya know... craft to level. Leves aren't the only way to gain exp. simply the most efficient and therefore the most used.

Level gathering jobs. Use those + creature farming to gather mats. Actually craft things and gain XP. Problem solved.

yeah thats right i guess we should get gated on the amount of dungeons we can do on battle jobs and level them by just monster farming cause that is a really good way to level

Crafting xp from crafting things is increased based on the number of steps involved. This means with the right macro you can make even basic recipes give great xp return.

Also once you hit level 50 just like with gatherers you can start working on Collectables, which are basically unlimited leve turn ins only limited by your ability to get the materials. Just like a gatherer is mostly limited in efficiency by time more so then anything else (though they always have always available nodes).

I feel like a closer analog would be comparing leves to the daily roulette bonuses we can only use once a day, while crafting for the xp (don't forget those manuals for boosted xp while gathering and crafting!) is like grinding the highest level dungeon you have access to over and over again.

Maybe what we need is a Craft/Gather Palace of the Dead

You can do Ixal for some extra XP from 1-50 and Moogle for 50-60 and also Rowena from 50-70. the real problem is 1-50 cause after that you can do infinite Rowena deliveries until u get max level.

There are always Ixal beast tribe quests to speed things up a bit. If you unlocked them, that is, which I believe requires lvl50 in combat class and some progress in Main Story Quest?! Honestly, doing the Main Story Quest is pretty much the main part of the game and a lot of stuff is locked based on its progress, so if she didn't unlock the Ixal beasttribe quests yet, she can as well ignore the crafters till she does. That'll stack up the leves anyway, so she'll have a bunch of em saved for afterwards.

Using the Ixal quests, at 30+ levels at least if you use all the quests available (or all the allowances you have...), give about a level a day till lvl50.
Then you can slightly boost your experience by turning in items for the Grand Company, but this is miniscule.
Also, remember that turning in items that are high quality doubles the experience gained. With limited turn ins a day (be it for leves or grand company), it's a good idea to try and get high quality as much as possible.
