Belated Starlight Celebration Help Please

Hey I feel dumb, no point in avoiding that.
My character is only level 7 and the event NPC at the xmas tree asked for ice shards, I got him ice shards, now the npc points me to deliver snowballs to an npc in another nation [Gridania].

I'm in Uldah, managed to take an airship to Gridania where the quest map points to an nPC who appears to be in an area I cannot get to at my level without mobs killing me.

Since the quest 'Winter Is Not Coming' says level 1 I assume I am just missing something?
I am trying to level up fast enough to rent a chocobo.

anyone who can help would be appreciated. I am being punished for waiting to the last minute but I want that damn raindeer suit! :P

ahh, sounds like a crappy predicament to be in... If you were in Lundblum I'd happily help ya. Leveling up shouldn't take long, especially when I can get to lvl 20 in one whole day by simply starting a xp party in Ul'dah, and grind my way up all in one sitting. Also it doesn't help you don't have a helpful linkshell.

This game can only be best experienced with others, so don't try and solo everything... Won't work out! Best of luck to you, if you were on my server I would totally help you out at the drop of a dime!

Hmmm, idk which mobs are on your way but if they agro to sound the easy way to do it is change to walk instead of run (X if you use WASD or 1 if you use 2468) so those mobs won't agro.

There are yarzons on the path if I recall. They're level 13 I think.

I guess they do that to encourage you to group, but I agree they shouldn't say "level 1" then.

If you were on my server I would help you too. All I can say is either go to Camp Emerald Moss and try to get someone to escort you, or level fast. With some leves, Guardian's aspect, and chaining, you can at least get yourself high enough level to defend yourself in short order. Better hurry though.

Edit: I've never tried walking with them lol. It's highly possible that would work. If so, then level 1 is justified.

Hey thank you for all of the great advice! I am slowly leveling lol and yes I need to learn how to party. Believe it or not, I never partied beyond small occasional situations in ffxi too. I have this fear of burdening people that keeps me from doing it. And LOL I only have the linkshell from the friendly npc!

I do appreciate all of the friendly offers of folks who would help if they were on my server. It is so encouraging to see such kindness and willingness to help a noob.

Going to get some of the levequests for camp emerald moss as soon as I hit level 10.

In the Starlight main thread, some one made a map for me so I just need to brave it out, level and foot my way over before the event ends!
