Is Elemental Magic Potency (Fire, Earth, Lightning, Wind, Water, Ice) Bug?

Anyone tried attaching elemental magic potency materia on gear?

Tried comparing +40 fire magic potency vs +0 fire magic potency
It seems that there is no difference in the dmg output when dealing with fire magic.

As it is a stats not shown in the attribute, was wondering if elemental magic potency is
bug or overlook by the developer. I mean, if they had tested it, i'm pretty sure it
shouldnt miss out as the result is pretty obvious (sometimes the +0 even outdmg the +40 fire magic potency) LOL. (Yea, the rest of the gear remain the same throughout my test)

Obviously it's not going to increase your Attack Magic Potency because it doesn't apply to everything, however if you look over at the elements you will notice that the corresponding element will rise. After the holiday I'll try and get in there and run the numbers a bit to see
You probably mistaken +lightning resistance with +lightning magic potency

I have +48 lightning magic potency. I can vouch that your damage does increase. In fact when comparing my Ivory Staff+1 with +22 lightning / +20 ice to the moogle weapon I averaged around 120 dmg higher on thundaras, my resist rate did not change. When comparing it to my ifrit's cudgel... I still out dps with the ivory on thunder/thundara but... I got resisted less when using the staff. I also tried using keep a stable lightning potency double feet vs my double attack magic feet. Again lightning out performs the attack magic potency.

So it leads me to think the specific element potency not only enhances the damage of the spell but decreases the chance to be resisted. Of course I didn't run a parser so feel free to disregard the information if it isn't legit enough for you. However from that alone I'll likely replace my mask of the mortal hex with a triple tier 4 int spinel electrum circlet(thunder one).

*Side note* Fire spells costs too much for the damage output and increased chance of death (because no one has hate on the surrounding monsters)

The BG Parser guy is making a tweak on it so I can test out m.acc more effectively. I plan on testing out the whole ele pot thing when its done.

Nice let me know how it goes! Right now I don't even see a purpose in fire potency anyways. Seems everything resists fire, and there isn't enough hate tools to keep us from pulling threat on large groups that are worth bothering with Fire. All fire spells are good for right now(end game wise) is pulling threat, wasting mp, and getting yourself killed! Safer to just use thunder and ice spells or just nuke on conjurer...
