Dear Healers who don't DPS

It's pretty simple . If you feel comfortable doing DPS without anyone dying then do it .

Had a few times when Tank has taken spike damage while Im doing DPS and had that panic moment where you think you cant get them back up before they die .

This one group we failed 2x in a row and on 3rd attempt the tank died and a dps died in light party I revived both and we still beat final boss . I was tired at the time after 12 hour shift work and lost concentration but adrenaline kicked in and miracles happened .

The best success is when you have to really work hard for it .

These types of threads often get chaotic, but I'll put my two cents in. I'm not against healers not dpsing because it's not their job to. Their job is to make sure the party doesn't die within reasonable standards. A tank's job is to draw aggro and live - which includes using defensive cooldowns when necessary. I know it sounds like the tank is doing more than the healer is, but that's just how it goes. The healer is there to make sure you don't die. You are there to make sure you have aggro so the boss/mobs don't randomly slap your party members in the face. If you want to dps after generating enough aggro, that's your choice as long as you keep aggro. If a healer wants to dps after healing everyone to comfortable hp levels, then that's their choice as long as no one dies. But it goes both ways - you must also respect it if they choose not to dps for whatever the reason. If not, they can complain if you drop tank stance and start dpsing when your main job is to keep aggro and survive.

As much as I am so 100% happy with this thread dying I can't be okay with this right here, sorry. "Thats how it is" just is like.... literally not a reason.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion but I feel like you can't expect this to be taken as a real argument when it's so entitled/insensitive to other roles.

I never said it was a reason, not even a literal reason... whatever that means. It's just how it is.

Every time I post in this thread I regret it as I'm doing it. Maybe I should stop. Anyone else feel that feeling when you click on this thread?

Either way, on topic, in that case healers who get kicked for not dpsing need to just accept it because thats just how it is. Or healers who get tanks who do entire dungeons in DPS stance wearing ilvl270 str accessories, its just how it is. I don't mean to be rude but this is just (a poor attempt at) justification for lazy healers.

No, because I've been asking the hard questions like what's the optimal healing sandwich.

It keeps getting Verraised and I feel pressure as a DPSey healer to kill it while it's weak ;-;
