    Would Summoners be happy if...

...Physick had a trait that gave it an alternate effect that when used on their own pets it would restore their pet's HP by a % of their max HP? Naturally when used on other players, other players' pets, and any chocobos it would still do as it does now.

Short answer, yes to anything that heals our pets.

It would be a start, at least, but there is currently more wrong with SMN than just sustaining our pets.

I'm not against the idea, but if I had to choose one or the other...Sustain all the way.

Ideally, I'd just like to see a Summoner trait that causes it to be based on the greater of Attack or Healing Magic Power but reduces its effectiveness generally in exchange for greatly increasing its effect on our pet, either through a multiplier or an added HoT.

Summoner's would also be happy, if they did more damage, then the support classes.

Machinist and Bard which have high utility and lower personal dps, often pull more dps or comparable numbers to Summoners.
Summoner isn't a support class... We can't replenish Tp/Mp Increase raid damage like Machinist or Bard can.

I could not care less. Pet's survivability is the least of SMN's issues atm. Besides, healing the pet is mostly done with Titan-egi during solo leveling and occasionnal hunting. In duties, the vast majority of the time, if the pet dies, it's because it got one-shot.

It's still the most punished job (by far) when dying, it's one of the most complex and counter intuitive to play while not rewarding near enough DPS for playing it right, and Bahamut is still badly designed...
Worst of all, it was one of the job which received the most constructive feedback (disregarding WHM) regarding what to do with it, and the 4.05 update did... almost nothing. One might even wonder if the change wasn't primarily for SCH.

So, I'd gladly take any kind of fix for SMN before the pet survivability one.

I'd really love a trait, let's call it "Aetherial recomposition" with the following effect:
in the 5 seconds following your pet's death, summon, summon ii and summon iii will be instant and require no mp.

The idea is that if you're fast enough you can use the aether your pet was made of to "recreate" quickly before it completely vanishes.

I could give a crap less about healing my pets. I can move them out of stuff. What I want is a a bit more damage on my abilities to be competitive. I have to do three times the work of other dps classes to still come up about 2-500 dps less. Yeah, Bahamut is awesome, and the class is still viable (i've been clearing Savage since release day with SMN) but it really sucks to be at the bottom of your party all the time. And if you die....jesus....
