While i was in the middle on the jump potions idea, like many have said it is not to blame for the bad players.
We still have long time players who love to still be ice mages, aoe attack 2 enemies and people that do not know how to dodge.
There is bad all around, not only with new players.
Queue times for dps are moreso due to i don't know.. maybe adding 2 dps.. yargh

They are going to be allowing more access to jump potions in 4.1 and not less. Anyone who thinks they're going to be removing those skip potions on mogstation is going to be very disappointed.

Personally I wouldn't jump a role I've never used before but I do like the idea of being able to jump roles I have on my alts which I've already leveled on my main.

I've had my share of bad players but I don't come here and make threads like this or saying how this player is this or that. There's threads like this every other day. Adding one more ain't gonna make the world go round.

It should of been a requirement that there was at least a character to level 50, before gaining the jump.
Hell, maybe even 30. You're at least getting your feet wet.
You can literally buy the game, and get the potion without any prerequisites whatsoever.
That way people can of learned the basics and such for there first 30/50 levels of their job choice.

Beginnin of SB, had a Fresh NIN gathering mobs in Temple.
That's kinda ridiculous...but I've not ran into many bad players besides that.
I still think that they should of had requirements though and not jump into the fray so quick.

It was made for them, but i get the sentiment.

I don't like seeing a level 60 sprout either, as they've never learned how their skills are supposed to interact together, and don't yet know the tools they can use to learn. They made this, but things like this are only well paired with a solo instanced that goes through every skill you've got with you and how they should be used (this is how wow does it now). Or a solo instance that starts you out with a set amount of skills, and keeps giving you more as you progress (this was how wow did it when they first introduced boosts).

I'd say that it's our responsibility as a community to help them out, but we've all seen how that plays out in practice. The boosts are here to stay, however SE still needs to improve on the process.

Ummm - as a level 60 sprout I don't like this implication. All that the sprout means is that I haven't gotten my MSQ to the end of Heavensward xpac yet. I didn't boost. I'm levelling multiple magic and healing classes through roulettes mostly and am certainly taking the time to figure out how each works.

Just please don't assume that 60 sprout = boost. 60 sprout literally just means not yet in Stormblood.

I've seen sprouts in Stormblood zones.

This isn't entirely true. When leveling your first job with MSQ, you are given the opportunity to watch other players in action. If, for instance, you start off as a DPS, you'll get to witness the way that a tank will gather mobs together and aoe them a few times to solidify hate. You'll see the way they handle adds that stray from the pack, and so on. When you decide to level a tank later on, there's a decent chance you'll remember what tanking is SUPPOSED to look like, and work to make sure your tanking meets those requirements.

A boosted player does not get these benefits. When they jump into a party at level 60, it's their FIRST party. They only have a vague idea of how fights are supposed to pan out, and if they didn't do at least a little research, they're going to do a lot of fumbling around with the many controls at their disposal.

While I don't believe the "boosted player catastrophe" is as bad as folks make it out to be, there's little doubt in my mind that the bad players who got to 60 by boost are harder to deal with than the bad players who got to 60 by PotD.

One thing you should be aware of in this game is that the so-called "hard mode dungeons" are NOT hard. In fact, in many cases they're EASIER than their normal counterparts. They would have been better off with names like "Return to the Great Gubal Library" or "The Great Gubal Library II". That's all they are - another go-around in the same dungeon as before, but with new bosses and monsters and new areas to explore. In the case of Gubal, I'd say that ALL of the bosses are much easier in Hard than they are in Normal, both in terms of the mechanics you have to deal with during the fights and also the fact that most players participating have a huge gear advantage compared to the normal version. (The ilvl cap for Gubal normal is much stricter than that for Gubal Hard.)
