Right now my max GP is 607, I wanted to know if it's worth going the extra mile to raise that to 700 or if there isn't any point to doing that.
From what I can see it isn't worth it but I want the feedback just in case I'm missing something obvious.

A gem cannot be polished without friction, Nor a person perfected without adversity.
Having 650 or 700 will allow you to throw a +gathering skill on the end of your collectible rotation which can be helpful on some of the high-end nodes
Some of the later SB-nodes will require you to have 635+ SP to unlock their boni - since those seem to be always more gathering attempts I'd consider it worth it (actually, I got so annoyed by missing out on those boni that I stopped gathering and went to craft me new accosseries mid-leveling)
With 700 GP, I can do a Leaf Turn III and four Bountiful Harvest II on a single node

Geting 700 will help out a great deal but its not required. It gives wiggle room and helps with HQ or higher gathering rate %s.
Bit off topic: Anyone have a decent midway meld for the new crafted gathering sets? Cant be asked to get tier VI right now. Any help would be appreciated!
I see...Pretty glad to hear there's a purpose to getting extra GP. Thank you for responding to my question!![]()

I've had 700 GP since like 3.4. It may not have the notable benefit like 600 GP but it does have its perks.
Morzone Vandalfo on Siren
Main job: SCH/MNK
Raid job: Gathering

650 is minimum imo for Yellow/Red Scrips. 700 is ideal and very easy to get at Lv70
