Yeah, and because there are to many of you and not enough of those who prefer tank/healer, you're paying the price with longer queues.

Gotta make a choice here: Play dps and wait - or play tank/healer and get your more or less insta-queues.
...or buddy up with a friend and take turns tanking/healing.

Is playing DPS worth the wait for you?
Calling the rest of the playerbase "selfish" because they dont want to play tank/heal either - which isnt true btw, I could never main a dps - isnt really helpful either.

I'm also unsure wether all the other "solutions" we've heard for this problem are actually viable - aka putting 3 dps in a dungeon or getting rid of the whole healer-tank-dps-system. Both might be easier said than done. The first option might help a little - the second one would alter the whole game...

For leveling another job to 70, I'd suggest doing your dailies with something that you want to level. That is how I leveled my AST to 70 and now doing the same with SCH.

Since you're in a free company and need help with queue time, why not ask if anyone wants to join you?

I dislike the suggestion of play healer or tank. Maybe people get tired of healing and tanking and would like to play dps sometimes. It sucks when you have limited play time and you're forced to play healer or tank just to get things done in a reasonable time. I want play the other dps classes so badly but ugh nope I need to heal just to grab these tomes or drops for the weekly cap. It will take months before I can touch the different dps jobs and some of them look so cool.

SE please never add two dps jobs again.

You may have some issues, but a bit of it has to do with when the week starts lots of people rush to get the stuff done, and by the time the weekend comes you're stuck with the few who couldn't get to it or the unlucky ones who couldn't get their drops.

I had a bit of problems in 2.0 / 3.0 as SMN, but if I took time to try to jump when right after re-sets, my waiting was down a ton.

As for EX, you're going to just have a tougher time as time goes on. Eventually people do not want to queue up for a trial like that just to have someone go "Okay..so what do I do?" Not saying you do that but a history of that really makes people want to step into EX trials, waiting 15 - 20 min just to get that guy who refuses to watch a video after so long.

I don't know if that will help so much. I am in the same boat though I like Tanking, sometimes I was to DPS and not worry about the tank world. Sometimes I got 30 minutes before we leave and the wife is getting ready. I have pants on, so my job is done. I can either wait 10/15 and jump in as DPS, risk being wife-aggro or go in as tank or healer instantly and be ready to walk out the door with her.

Even if they added no DPS, this would still be where it is. People jumped to DPS from Tank and Healers due to game play or jumping on the bandwagon.

New-flashy has a bit to do with it. Especially when they promote it the way they did, and new things are always exciting.

The solution is not simple or a single one, it will involve both the player base to quit being jerks and the development side to bring in a large QoL fixes.

How are people selfish? When I log in I do my expert, my leveling, and my 50/60. But then i have other things to do. I have other classes to level, fishing to do, along with other random things.

Being selfish is one thing. But expecting other players to drop what there doing to answer your beck and call is totally different.


You just need to wait for the roulette to pop. Same as us all.

Expert roulette is not required and Omega NM queues are short. I don't see the issue.

Can we look up the word selfish, and then re read our own posts? Might be just the same in your case... Who knows.

Also I must of missed a patch, headliner says level 80's or fresh 80's. I am only level 70, I knew there were something special that they didn't give us during EA or as CE item. That potion to jump to level 80 :/

While I am helping people, I am not their babysitter, meaning if they can't be bothered to research stuff, making me work even harder, then that's not help, that's taking advantage of other players. Nobody helps me when I need to gear my other jobs, or my alts, if I want to play dps, then I do count on longer dps's queue's because I know that everybody is playing it. I don't complain about it.
