yes spirit-bounding gathering sets takes a very long time, even with spirit-bond potions.

Can you share the solution for those of us who are curious, please?

Spiritbonding is faster on Gatherer.
Wear NQ Gear. Meld 2 materia instead of 1.
Make sure you have the SB Folklore Books. Hit 1 Star Legendary nodes.
Spiritibonding rate is 7% Per Legendary Node and about 9-10% with the ALC Spiritbonding Potion.
No. Tier of Materia doesn't matter, you just need to put in 2 materia instead of 1. If you wanna go VitGatherer, have fun. Mine has Crit and Skill speed... gotta go fast
Check the Convert Tab of this guide:

Person crafted 100 spiritbond sets, got around 8% chance of VI from his data

I'm averaging 1-3 per spiritbond but my sample size is really small since I'm on my 5th set.
Spiritbonding as a crafter, I posted here
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post4327602
and here http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post4337741 (What items to use for spiritbonding) Essentially any item on the 66-70 tab will get you a good percentage. 70 1star is 1% percent per craft.

First link appears to use crafted HQ gear, 19.5% materia VI from 138 converts (this is close to my own experiences over the past couple weeks).Check the Convert Tab of this guide:

Second link uses NQ gear, has 8.2% materia VI rate from 1300 converts. Either NQ guy was horribly unlucky over a large sample, or HQ gear has a dramatically higher materia payout (or they have buffed the rate since he did his tests).

The guy with a larger sample rate is likely to be more accurate. pRNG is a much hire sampling rate than 100 http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post2310334First link appears to use crafted HQ gear, 19.5% materia VI from 138 converts (this is close to my own experiences over the past couple weeks).

- HQ gear has a higher chance at being better materia
- SE ninja changed the convert rate with 4.05
seriously, why would you delete it? others might have the same question.
