Thread: Why is Hagakure a DPS increase?

Just wondering because I see a lot of guides using it at various points....but I dont understand why.

To me it seemed like its only use would be to reset Iai so you could reapply your dot, or during a boss transition where you wanted to rest your rotation with some extra kenki.

The I see it is:

Kaiten + Midare = 720 + 360 = 1080 potency

Hagakure + lets say 3 Shiten = 300 x 3 = 900 potency

Or

Haga + Guren = 800 potency

So why would I ditch 3 sen and turn it into 900 potency when I could use 3 sen and turn them into 1080 potency?

I might be wrong but isn't it because it's an ocgd weave? Midare is a stationary cast where as Shinten would be weaved so you'll have other potency going out during what would be the midare cast?

Hagakure is used in the opener both to use Kaiten/Higanbana and to ensure you have enough kenki for Guren toward the end, also useful as you said during transitions. Another use would be for if you were too low on kenki when Guren is coming off cd or need to reset kenki count for a specific iaijutsu

I've been debating whether or not I should be doing this. I've realised now that this is what I should be doing. Thank you.

so if you are looking for max DPS, Hagakure is better than Midare if:
-You have enough time to spend kenki (Like 6.5 seconds).
-Trick Attack is not up.

Better PPS.
