    "Shake it Off" potential fix

    Right now we all know shake it off is underwhelming and has very little place among WAR's skills. This change intends to give it a more definite use and also add utility to WAR's kit.

    Shake it Off
    Increases your, or target ally's, HP by 10% and heals for the amount increased.
    Duration: 6s
    Cooldown: 25s

    With this change this adds a defensive CD to WAR's kit and also adds some team utility for when the WAR is off-tanking. This also takes into consideration that WAR is the HP tank and is similar to one of the classes stronger CDs just with a shorter duration and smaller effect. This also still plays to the name of the skill as now the WAR is telling himself, or his ally, to "shake off" the next blow.
    With this simple change this ability would become more useful in a myriad of situations and give it a solid place on all WAR's hotbars.

    Any comments, suggestions, or constructive criticism it greatly appreciated.

    I could see the use of that for things like MT and OT TBs, as a healer id love that the OT could help get the MT healed up after a TB and prep for incoming damage!

    I agree that the ability is really underwhelming and could be much more useful. Your idea is pretty much a weaker thrill of battle with a much shorter CD so I would like to see something a bit more unique. I like the idea changing the ability so that it could be something that could be used on an ally, giving WAR some actual utility.

    But if they want to stray away from giving WAR utility they could make it something similar to equilibrium where it effect is different depending on which stance you are in.

    Shake It Off

    Removes most all detrimental effects. (and actually make it usable on more types of debuffs) Can be executed while under the effects of action-inhibiting statuses

    If an effect is removed gain 10% damage reduction while in defiance (duration 10 - 15 secs)

    If an effect is removed gain 5% - 10% increased damage while in deliverance (duration 10 - 15 secs)


    With this effect you can actual use it as a CD for damage reduction or a damage buff if you have a debuff that last a pretty long time and isn't that harmful. I mean you guys can play around with the idea I think that would be a cool way to use the ability and opens a bit more play options as well which I love about the WAR.

    While I like the idea I have found that there are very few debuffs that can be removed, if at all, in endgame content. Most of the ones that can are also easily avoidable. If there were more debuffs flying out then I could see this being a really interesting idea; but, again, I don't think that will be the case since we have seen esuna, the main way to remove debuffs, become more situational and niche based.

    I'm probably in the minority in that I think Shake it Off is fine being an extremely niche, not very useful skill. I don't think it necessarily hinders WAR. I do think WAR needs more utility though similar to what you suggest. I would favor giving them Thrill of War (+20%MaxHP and healed for that amount on a 90s-120s window) first and foremost.

    I was actually thinking of something useful that could help WAR in the utility department to replace Shake It Off.

    Wrathful Presence - Increase Max HP of all allies by 10%. Shares a recast timer with Reckless Abandon.

    Reckless Abandon - Increase all allies' Critical Hit Rate by 5%. Shares a recast timer with Wrathful Presence.

    It'd give them SOME utility at least. It'd be on a 120s CD.

    Instead of removing a detrimental debuff, I would like for SiO to reverse it. For example, turning a vuln up into a vuln down, or turning a damage down into a damage up. A DoT could be reversed to a HoT, and so forth. It would still ring true to the idea of shaking off something on the player, in a way.

    How about making it something that interacts with your health bar? Maybe a scaling damage and defense buff that gets stronger the lower you are when you use it? Shaking off the WAR's weakening HP with a display of force?

    I really want something that interacts with our beast gauge. Something like a shout that I mentioned in one of my threads. The skill would reduce the Warrior's current beast gauge in half, and give an effect based on how much beast gauge you lost, and which stance you're in. What the buffs should do though, I still haven't decided yet.

    In my thread, I proposed the effect under Deliverance be an extra damage bonus, but someone pointed out that would be too strong. So we'd have to come up with something else. I think some extra critical rate wouldn't be all that bad. Something in between 5-10% (varied based on how many points you lost).

    As for the Defiance effect, it could be what OP said - increased max HP, or maybe even increased healing for the next couple of seconds.

    Probably the best use I've gotten out of Shake It Off was removing a blind effect that got thrown on me just before entering my Inner Release burst phase. So although niche, I kind of like it.

    What would be nice is if there was an indicator of what can be removed and what can't be. So far, I've only seen one debuff in Omega Savage removed by it, and that's the burns from #3. Which I shouldn't be hit by anyway. At the moment, it's a bit like Brutal Swing was: nice to have in dungeons or solo-ing, but useless in endgame content.

    Which is fine.
