A Change to BLM That Can Really Help Out

    Hi!

With Enochian being tied to your Astral Fire and Umbral Ice, movement is even more of a hindrance than it was before when Enochian was its own buff. At least, in my opinion, it was. And yes, I know, you can use Transpose to help with this but even then, it's still annoying having to set yourself up again... only to have to move again somewhere else... and possibly lose Enochian.

Right now at the moment, Thunderprocs aren't exactly useful until you get into Umbral Ice. So I thought what if a proc'd version of a thunder spell resets your Astral Fire or Umbral Ice? Now don't misunderstand, I said a proc'd version, not a hard-casted one.

For example, let's say I get a Thunder 3 proc as I enter Astral Fire and start chucking Fire IV's. Oh no, I have to move! So in that moment, I use my Thunder 3 proc to refresh my Astral Fire. It definitely makes Thunder procs more valuable and helps with a problem that BLM's have as far back as Heavensward!

Insanely broken because now you can have 6xF4 3.X rotations and 7xF4 4.0 rotations when you have Sharpcast up (and some other times too, depending on rng).
With the amount of speed we can get now, the shorter cast times and the short Triple cd, movement really isn't an issue.

People need to be very careful when considering touching Thundercloud, because it's already really strong, and things like this would make or break other cooldowns (like Sharpcast).

If you wanted to make thundercloud procs largely rotation-neutral you could just make them add ~3 seconds to an existing astral/umbral timer rather than totally refresh it, but it'd constitute a buff and I'm not sure it's necessary.

I disagree completely... thundercloud procs are so awesome. I use them all the time in place of F4s. Obviously you don't want to use them when you need to reset AF or switch Af/Ui, but they are almost always better than using F4s, they provide easy movement, and they reapply the dot to get more. Thundercloud procs are definitely helpful with UI, don't get me wrong, but if you get one right after you switched to AF, use 2 F4s, T3P, F1 and you are golden.

If Thunderclouds could animate as a direct lightning bolt, that's about the only buff it could use.

    A buff of VISUAL IMPACT.

To be fair the number of parses are so skewed that data means very little atm

3k black mages vs 11k rdm players, some probably horrible

Not only are the numbers causing misrepresentations, the meta is catered too much towards the double melee (catering for SAM). However, If we can get double caster groups BLM and RDM numbers can go higher.

In case people arne't aware, the standard, no LB penalty setup is: 1 Melee, 1 Physical Ranged, 1 Caster Ranged and 1 "other" DPS. The other DPS can be a melee, a caster or physical ranged as long as no class duplicates.

So setups like SMN + BLM/RDM or DRG + BRD + MCH + RDM can skew the other DPS numbers closer to SAM's.
