Machinist doesn’t need a boost. It’s in a good place for damage, but the class does need some tweaks to make it feel more engaging.

Reset heat generation to Stormblood launch (+5 <50, +10 >50), but incorporate the pvp version of Hot Shot (+25 heat). Since that would force use of Cooldown, raise slug & clean proc rates above 50% or lower ammo recast timers.

Another suggestion might be to rework flamethrower to something easier to predict when using it for only one tick by filling the heat gauge gradually instead of 1/5 chunks.

Or, when heated above 50, the barrel will gradually cool down to a stable 50 after firing ceased for a short time. The cool down could stop as soon as firing resumes. This would also help machinists deal with heat when they don’t have access to Cooldown.
