New Warrior - Engaging Groups and AoE Aggro in Dungeons 4.05 ?

Could use a little help here from more experienced Warriors. What's your initial rotation and what skills do you use to hold AE aggro on a group of mobs in 4 man dungeons please ?

Well if you only need threat and cannot spare TP, just overpower twice or three times and you're done. Maintain Storm's Eye combo and switch between targets using Path combo (or Butcherblock if you're low level), using Steel Cyclone when you have 50 gauge to maintain AOE threat.

If you can spare TP, just pop unchained and berserk while spamming Overpower under Storm's eye buff to maximize damage.

Isn't it hard for you to hit all the Mobs with Overpower while passing them without stopping? I struggle quite a bit for this, but I picked up my WAR from lvl50 just recently, so maybe with time Comes experience.

Just Overpower a couple times. You can Infuriate and use Steel Cyclone as well, since it ignores the damage penalty of Defiance. I don't think there's much to it?

Pre-SB, I used Flash for this, but if you're pulling multiple groups, honestly, I would just Tomahawk and hope the DPS don't hit the other ones.

Normally groups of mobs are placed in packs of 3. Overpowering the one in the center usually hit the ones at the sides, since its range, even it's conal, it's kinda wide. Sometimes, you can aggro the one closer, and the other two or three behind will follow it, making a triangle formation that would hit them with your overpower. Sometimes you can overpower as many mobs as possible with one hit, move behind the pack and the other ones would be grouped already, so the second overpower should hit them now. Remember you can freely use Sprint now, without any cost. Use that wisely to move ahead of your group for pulls. Also watch out if you have regens on you, because chances are that, not always, you will be able to hit all the mobs. I use that on some mobs and bosses because overpower has a higher emnity multiplier than tomahawk.

WAR needs way more planning than either PLD or DRK for pulls, because they have a circular AoE making it super easier to grab aggro. Back in 3.0, WAR having flash was godsent. Not only because of its aggro range, but because it helped you to save TP too. Granted, we have Steel Cyclone, but the gauge consumption makes it look very unattractive. It works great for pre-level 60 circunstances, since you don't have Decimate and its HP return is decent-ish. But I personally don't like to rely on something like that for group aggro generation when both PLD and DRK have it and it's way accessible for them.

Alright, I'd like to start off by saying that if you ever run out of TP during a dungeon, you're doing something wrong and need to rethink your actions.

That said, here are a few tips for the 4-man dungeons:

    1. Throw Tomahawk isn't worth using for initial pulls. Unless what you're trying to pull is just 1 big monster. In most cases, it'll be groups of 3 though, and using Tomahawk is going to delay your Overpower.

    2. You don't need to spam Overpower. Using it twice will already make sure you won't have to worry about enmity for that group, save for some cases where both your DPS decide to target a different enemy than you, which barely ever happens, and if it does, you can just Provoke and hit it once with literally anything.

    3. While it's possible to just Overpower a group of monsters without stopping, sometimes the monsters will be too spread out. I think this is what gets a lot of people, and why they think they need Flash back, or that Overpower sucks. So what you do is, you get in front of them all, WAIT for them to converge to you, and THEN use Overpower! You'll hit them all! WOW OMG SO HARDDD!!!1!!11!1 #rocketscience

Now what I usually do is Overpower 2 times and add in a Steel Cyclone. Just 1 is enough. If my Infuriate is up, I throw in another one for extra damage, but make sure to keep Inner Beast ready in case I notice the healer isn't keeping up with my HP. It happens in big pulls so it's good to be ready.

As a sidenote, if you're spamming Overpower because it's the only way you can hold agro in Deliverance, please do all tanks (and healers) a favor and go play another job, thank you.

The trick with overpower is just trying to line up/group the targets before Overpowering, select an enemy at the edge and turn in, or select the enemy in the middle to try to hit them with the width of the cone. Just takes some practice/familiarizing yourself with particular dungeon pulls. I think BluexBird pretty much covered it, here's what I do:

    Overpower x2
    Infuriate
Storms Eye combo (getting up Berserk and/or Unchained if you won't use Inner Release soon)
    Steel Cyclone
More Overpower (at this point just spamming for DPS, not threat)

You should be down to a few targets and maybe half-TP, buffs worn off, this is when I switch to Eye/Path combos to build Beast Gauge before the next pull.

Equilibrium is extremely useful for opening on trash mobs.
The enmity from the self-heal ensures that every mob will be looking at you, even if the healer has a Regen ticking. It's like Flash with less enmity but far greater range. So you don't have to waste time lining up every enemy for the initial few Overpowers, since they'll already be coming to you in the first place.
Many WAR's don't realize this however.

Then once you've got all mobs gathered, Infuriate+Berserk and Steel Cyclone, then Overpower once or twice.
Boom. Now you have concrete aggro and can switch to tab-targeting your GCD to build your meter. Use common sense and maybe toss in an Overpower once in a while, and you're gucci.

If you're pulling a pack of like 8 mobs though then just mash the HECK out of that Overpower button because 120x8 is gonna be bigger numbers than spending GCD's building up the meter for steel cyclones.
