Selene is in a really poor place. She has very few situations (if any) where she would be the ideal choice over Eos.

Leave your suggestions on improvements for her skillset.

Selene Moveset
Embrace - Restore target's HP. Cure Potency: 300

If Eos is supposed to be geared toward AoE healing, make Selene the better single target healer. Bump up the cure potency for her Embrace!

Silent Dusk - Silences target for 1s.

Get rid of it! Replace it with a more practical skill. I'd suggest a skill that would double the shield effect from galvanize and give it a 2 min cool down. This would give Deployment tactics more play and help raiders immensely.

Fey Caress - Removes a single detrimental effect from all nearby party members.

I'm okay with this.

Fey Wind - Increases attack speed of self and nearby party members by 3%. Duration: 30

An Astrologian's Arrow card does over 3 times this value on a single target. An expanded Arrow ((reduces the effect by half and extends effect to party)) does almost double this effect and has the same duration. Full stop. Fey wind is a slap in the face. At least extend it to a 5% buff. Minimum.

I think if they changed the silent dusk into a vulnerability up debuff of like 3% or something for 20 seconds recast of 60 seconds. would help us compete with astro for party buffs. Fey wind needs a buff to 5% as well cause 3% speed increase is not very noticeable, 5% isn't very noticeable either but its somewhat more reasonable atleast.

Don't really see any problems with Eos.


On another note, I think it would be interesting to be able to instant cast these fairies to better suite a parties needs at any given time...

That's my only input on our faeries at this time.

It seems like SCH was neglected for Stormblood. Not nearly as much TLC was given to them. This last patches buff to Scholar was definitely needed but Selene's weakness should have been caught in HS, honestly. I'm not sure how it made it this far without attention from Devs.

I feel like making Selene more Buff/Debuff oriented and Eos the Healing oriented fairy would go a way to resolving the matter. I also wouldn't mind seeing some DPS fairies added as well. Helios/Oberon!

Give me a fairy swap Dissipation and I am SOLD.

Fey Wind to 5% would be cool too - if Dusk was turned into a vuln up then asking for more than 5% FW would be too much imo.

Caress can stay as is, whatever. Just means one less role skill wasted on something ridiculously situational.

I agree on all counts honestly. With the transition to SB it feels as if Selene lost her identity within the meta, and while she'll always have her situational uses she honestly pales in comparison to Eos in every way shape and form. A fact which is going to become problematic as the content scales, as Eos has always been rather good at the start of expansions but outright lousy by the time the X.55 part of they cycle comes along. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that Eos is /finally/ useful again and no longer the 'dummy' pet that a secondary SCH would be forced to use whenever they happened to be paired with another already using Selene. However I want it to actually be an outright /choice/ for once. Not one being better than the other, and making Selene the buff/debuff faerie would go a long way to supporting this.

Selene's core issue is that Eos's regen and heal potency up is so OP, but I don't think giving her a debuff skill really fits the idea of Selene. Wind hitting 5% to equal AoE would be nice, or shorten it's CD so we can give it more uptime.

But I agree we need to replace Silent Dusk entirely. I like the Vul Up idea, but my suggestion would be a skill that guarantees the next Galvanizing skill crits. It would be a great counter to Eos's Whispering Dawn, and would synergize and absolve some of the issue with our sheild's being a smaller flat rate compared to AST Noct skills.

It would need a long CD (120 seconds like Dawn, maybe as high as 180 like Benediction), but it would give SCHs the same sort of choice of style AST's offer, and actually give us a reason to utilize Selene.

Want to focus more on instant casts with steady imput? Take Eos. Want to focus more on mitigation? Take Selene.

You're obviously joking. Eos heals are terrible and cannot even compete with a chocobo.

Want to make SCH better? Write a decent pet AI so people don't have to micromanage their fairy on top of 30 buttons. that would help a HUGE deal.
