    So, gearing path?

I've been sat for considering the whole tenacity vs non tenacity arguments a while, mostly in consideration to melds. However what about gearing?

Taking into account stat weights and whether to aim for tena left side (hard with creation!) Along with which savage version would replace that slot - what are people thinking as far as which order of slots to buy from creation / books? Plus weapon?

You can have two sets anyways..... crafted ilvl 320 for Dh build, tomes gear for tenacity build....one requires gils/doh to have, other require time.....

Certainly planning on two sets - more of a question around the path itself - priority pieces etc. It doesn't matter long term but I'm just canvassing opinions for the optimal paths to make the last savages a bit easier!

The priority is going to depend a decent amount on what you might get for drops in savage.

The #1 thing to do is make sure you have enough Creation to get your weapon when you get enough of the V4.0 normal-mode drop.
    After that:
Technically the Belt is the most efficient piece to get for stats, followed by shirt/pants then hat/gloves/shoes. Accessories are dead last.
The other thing to take into account is that it's much harder to get the chest/legs than the hands/feet since they drop from the later trials. That means you get more mileage out of buying the chest/legs with tomes, even if you replace them (unless you're in a hardcore group clearing those stages already).

I'm favoring tenacity for now so this will be my buy order for armor:
#0 Ring (I didn't like having a dungeon ring, plus it's needed anyway...this is not the more efficient use of tomes)
    #1 Chest
    #2 Hat
After that only drops have tenacity so these all could be replaced, or not even bought if I get the drop first
    #3 Legs
#4a Feet, probably, since they don't have ten. on either option.
#4b hands if I don't have them by now
#5 earrings, necklace - depending on which is currently the lowest ilvl.

With raid tokens my priority is:
    V1.0 - belt, ring, bracelet
    V2.0 - hands, feet, hat

Ive looked at gear several times. Until i know the difference in DPS from crit and tenacity i wont know my for sure build. But we are tanks and usually make more then one build. Ur order will also depend on what gear u currently have through omega normal drops and if u purchased and properly overmelded crafted gear. The tome chest piece is great has both crit and tenacity and u can meld DH to it. Now the most important piece for ALL classes is the weapon. So make sure u get that the first week u can

Some good replies here. Been on a long break before SB so useful hearing it as I get back into it. I got belt oil so ended up buying that - sounds like not a bad choice despite a slightly delayed the chest piece. Head also dropped for me so bit of luck! Will prioritize rest around ensuring weapon asap though. Thanks all!

When spending Creation tomes on tanks.. ideally its:

Week 2: Body (The rest of your gear should be i320 at this point with an i310 Body)
    Week 4: Legs
Week 5: Gloves or Boots (Whichever one is the O3S drop. Got the Fending Head from O2S.)
    Week 6: Shield (If Paladin)
    Week 7: Weapon
Note: That leaves you with 5 Creation left over and a 0% chance of obtaining gear for the same gear slot until you clear O3S.

    - The main focus always being left side gear.
    - Then gear that won't be replaced right away with O1S and O2S drops.
    - Collecting 5 Shafts in Omega normal is just silly. Better to get the i320 Legs and Gloves and buy the i330 Body with Creation right away.
    - Buying the Creation Belt right away is also silly as its an O1S drop.
    - Of course if someone doesn't plan to do Savage then a "Gearing Path" doesn't matter in the slightest.

Tanks are in a really good spot these days where none of our stats are totally useless like Parry, Skillspeed (Old PLD TP issues), and extra Accuracy use to be. Getting +Defense and +Str on left side gear is all that really matters until you've got Savage on farm to mix and match a BiS set.

This gear progression is wrong. Creator tomes didnt come out with .omega normal they dropped with savage. So u cant have that much equipment before week 7. And for people that do savage drops might also differ your buy order. Even if the 340 gear u get from savage drop isnt BiS but an upgrade can change ur buy order

If thats the case he doesnt get weapon as soon as he could. And weapon should be picked up as soon as it drops when u get ur 7th weekly v4 clear. So its not obviously. It should be reordered. But it is on the right path
