Next Expansion: I want to go to Lucis!

would it be cool if we could go to The Kingdom of Lucis!

i know a lot of people want to go to the Garlemald kingdom, but that just seems like "endgame" to me.

so instead of going to a different continent to ultimately meat an end-game goal, i want to first take a detour and explore a Lucis in a steampunk-like industrial age. something with secluded towns and deserted plains.

perhaps even meat one of the 13 kings, or better yet, join a growing Kingsglaive group with a new KingsGlaive Job! there is also the possibility of an Oracle Job!

im not sure if the timeline is universal with FFXV, but it would also be cool to include lore from XV by maybe introducing Ardyn as a main antagonist/surprise ally, thus maybe even introduce deamons as an enemy.

there is also the oppertunity to add different machine-based mounts, and i do mean the kind with wheels on them (Regalia prototype!).

I think Yoshi-P already said Garlemald was still pretty far out? Like 6.0-ish? I can't recall the exact source right this moment though, I'd love if someone could find that.

Sharlayan and Thavnair both seem really likely candidates for the next expansion. SE could surprise us with something else again like they did with Doma though.

He's suggested it could be 5.0 before (a couple expansions away, said while we were still in HW) and that Doomtrain could be there. Nothing solid/official and everything subject to change of course; they still want to surprise us.

Old Sharlayan and Thavnair aren't big. They are tiny compared to Othard which is supposed to be a continent. Ilsabard, the third of the three great continents and where Garlemald is located, is the last really major landmass we have in this part of the world. They could do all three in one expansion (1 zone thavnair, 1 zone sharlayan, 4 zones ilsabard)

Also despite the two island nations not being that big (although Thavnair is actually pretty big), there's still a lot more islands to look into. Pretty sure that's one of the real reasons why we got swimming: to expand content potential to more island areas.

With a quick search the closest I can find to that is "the campaign against the Garleans may last until 6.0" which isn't exactly the same. There's a lot of distortion of information with people interpreting comments in different ways, translating foreign interviews different ways, and retelling the story different ways "I heard this news from my linkshell". So I try to separate fact from fiction. I think we will touch on Ilsabard next expansion, but nothing is certain until another fan fest reveal in the future.

They could certainly do an expansion solely on smaller islands, which would give them some room to remake some old zones at the same time with flying added. But they could do a big continent expansion and still have a lot left over for the future too (The New World, Meracydia and whatever else is out there beyond the borders of the current map)

I don't see them doing this honestly. Just from the OP alone it feels like you are trying to jam thrust FFXV verbatim into FXIV. Even if they took parts of the FFXV Mythos and incorporated it into FFXIV it wouldn't BE the same as FFXV.

Yeah, the most they could realistically do is another themed 24-man like with Ivalice and FF III.

not really. though i do admit that introducing characters and factions such as the kingsglaive and Ardyn was on those lines.

however, all we know is that there is "A" Lucis within the universe of FFXIV. so i dont see why they shouldn't include an alternative reality. for example, the kingsglaive was not developed until much later in the XV timeline, while i wish for it to be developed much earlier. Ardyn does not necessarily need to be within the universe, but an enemy as interesting as the daemons would add a newer threat and possibly a new night-time system where they would only appear. same thing with an oracle job, since traditionally, there is to be only one oracle.

Again you are trying to jam thrust FFXV into FXIV. How exactly is there "A" Lucis within the universe of FFXIV? Are you basing this on the "Lucis" crafting and gathering tools? There is no Lucis on the world map released by SE for Hydaelyn.

I know it's wishful thinking but damn, I would love myself a FFXV collab too. KingsGlaive job would wreck everyone now with their "Warp" abilities.
