    Gathering advice

    Hey everyone,

Not sure if anyone can point me in the right direction with what to do next.

I've just hit 60 gathering on my miner, done the 60 class quest in Iydlshire and found my new class quest giver. I have the full trailblazer gear that's level 58 and have a few red scripts left over.

My question is though, after seeing the ironworks gear which is i190, how do I go about getting this sort of gear? even the level 60 gathering gear is a measly i110 or i120 IIRC. The location where I handed in all my collectables in Ul'Dah don't have any equipment that's better than level 58, so where do I go now for gear? just buy it off players? because on the server Midgar people are selling the ironworks HQ gear for 800k each piece and I can't afford that.

I also haven't got a quest or anything for Zhloe, which I have heard she's good for handing in collectables too.

    Thanks!

for now I would just concentrate on grinding your way to 61 or so then you can buy better vendor equipment from Castrum Oriens. I really wouldn't bother with ironworks gear in your situation. it might be a little bit of a slog but if you do your daily GC turn ins that should help. To unlock Zhloe you must have completed the quest "Go West, Craftsman" in Mor Dhona.

The Ironworks gathering/crafting gear was the final tier of crafted gear in Heavensward. So ya you can't buy them anywhere unless from the Marketboard and that is assuming your server is not still selling them at 500k-1mil+ gil.

As Dr Who has said. Hit 61. Buy the vendor gear.

Once you hit 61 and have the 61 gear, though, start focusing on Collectibles for your exp. Handing in a Collectible level 56 or above (which used to be the start of blue scrip, with 4.0 it is red scrip) gets you scrip which you can use to get the i180 class-specific gear, and then to upgrade that gear to i200. While it would not be worth your while to get a full set of the stuff, I'd suggest getting the MH tool at a bare minimum (OH tool too, if you like). You can actually use the i200 gear to hit level 70 if you want to, though a full set of it might run into GP problems.

Funny you actually mentioned this, I did exactly this last night after reading about Zhloe's lol. I got all the red script jewellery green i180 items and all I need is the helm and chest for the miner specific i180 gear! also I finished off the achievement diary for the free i200 pickaxe. My GP is at 635 without food right now, so I think this should see me through the next few levels

How? I saw someone with the augmented miners chest but not sure how to do it myself.

Check the goblin in Idyllshire next to the person who upgraded combat gear. You'll need Goblin Dice or Goblin Cups, I forget which, as the hand in along with the i180 to upgrade it to i200. The Goblin stuff is bought with either red scrip or red tokens, not sure since 4.0 as I've not looked.

That said, 650 GP worked wonders in HW. 700 GP worked wonders for me leveling in SB, because the 15% gathering move that cost 100 GP was very useful and affordable, while still maintaining the 600 GP Collectible rotation.

I cannot stress doing the Gathering Leves in Kagane enough, CRAZY fast leveling, will get you to 70 in a couple days tops. Use GC seals to purchase XP boosting scrolls .. Company issue order II or something like that. Buy vendor gear along the way and you'll be 70 in no time.

Yep! I was looking at this this morning actually lol, literally only an hour or so ago!

So the gathering gear requires dice, the crafters gear requires the goblet and each dice/goblet are bought using 25 red scripts awesome advice though, thanks man
