Is your banhammer ready for the OP bayohne? Upsetting you must be a bannable offence on the forumsI was saddened by the thread title, and I was going to reply, but normalforce pretty much said everything I was going to. The teaser was created to be used on the small scale, and not intended to be used at the full size. Our players wanted to see it larger, and we were lucky enough to be allowed to show it (even though it wasn't taken with the bells and whistles on). That's pretty much the long and short of it.
But seriously if you could make the pic with all the bells and whistles it would be an awesome wallpaper![]()

You know what I say Bayo... STILL LOOKS BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE ON THE MARKET.I was saddened by the thread title, and I was going to reply, but normalforce pretty much said everything I was going to. The teaser was created to be used on the small scale, and not intended to be used at the full size. How's your rig set up Bayohne?![]()
This pretty much confirms one of the longest-standing theories of these forums. People will bitch about anything.
And the offices will be closed from December 26th to January 2nd. *looks at calendar* It's the 23rd.
In fairness to Square, no computer exists yet that can run FF14 at the highest settings. :P

FFS.............What does it say about the graphics performance of the game engine when the dev post a semi promotional shot of the game with no AA, Depth of Field and Ambient Occlusion.

On the note of the new graphics engine can the dev team elaborate what they are changing other than displaying more characters and better scaling of visual fidelity for low end computers.

Don't worry I am pretty sure the dev/rep team has been at this long enough to grow thick skins, and depriving the games fans of sneak peaks at future content will never be on the table as long as the game has fans.
I think we would all like to see some sneak peeks of the new graphics engine, and the new character creation options whenever they are ready.
I would point out that high end renders of 3d models tie up CPU time. It can take days to produce a single image render or an animation, and that computer does nothing else during that time. Of course that doesn't apply to in game screenshots, but the point is providing this sort of thing takes resources that could be used for something else. I look at it as them giving us something fun along with the bi-montly updates, much like the live producer letters. The same goes for the scanned concept drawings provided with the 2.0 info. Yoshi-P does this stuff instead of sleeping.....
They didn't have to do this, and they could treat all of this as trade secrets. Every bit of info they provide us could give their competitors an advantage over them next year.
What would be cool to see when 2.0 comes out would be an artbook with the concept art along with high end renders of characters and enemies. I'd pay for that!
LMFAO you are giving that little taru WAAYYYYYY to much credit, and insinuating he has way more influence then he really does. I can assure you any dev still reading these forums that hasn't found a new job by now takes comments like these with a fine grain of salt.
Good lord, OP is the perfect example that people just find things to complain about -.-
complaining about a blown up teaser screen shot of all things.......
